Body of Lies is this year's The Kingdom and I say that with nothing but respect. Ridley Scott sprinkles his magic dust over an otherwise okay script and turns it into something that's actually really freaking good. The movie follows DiCaprio and Crowe trying to track down a major terrorist leader supposedly operating out of Jordan. The twist is that Crowe's handling the situation from Washington while DiCaprio's stuck smack dab in the Middle East. When these two get together it makes for some great dialog. Sometimes it can be intense while other times being laugh out loud funny. Co-starring in this film is Mark Strong who plays the Chief of Jordanian Intelligence. Incredibly, this guy can stand his own beside two high calibur actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Russel Crowe. The movie is pretty long, which may turn off some people, but if you can make it all the way through without a potty break, I promise that you'll be rewarded. The most negative thing I have to say about this movie, is that I don't sense a clear begging, middle, and end. The movie plays out much like a TV show, as to say there are many different episodes, each having some bit to do with the grand scheme of things, but also focusing on smaller, less important issues. Body of Lies has a 53% rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and thus serves as a perfect example of how critics can occasionally be found dead wrong. To see this do worse than Spider-Man 3 is a downright travesty. I give Body of Lies a FULL PRICE! Suck on that Spidey!
