Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (PS3) Review

Yay! Star Wars, everyone loves Star Wars. So I KNEW this game was gonna be awesome. Playing as Darth Vader's secret apprentice, that's great! I was especially exited for the story, made canon by George Lucas himself? Sign me up! Lets check this out.

The story is nothing short of great, there is NO reason why this shouldn't be a film and NOT Clone Wars.(ugh) As mentioned above, you play as Darth Vader's secret apprentice, set out to overthrow The Emperor. But sh*t happens along the way and it gets real complicated to the point where I got a little lost. But once i figured it ALL out, It was seriously engaging and epic. (Also, the ending is simply amazing)

Story: 10/10

The GAMEPLAY itself (the part that is really important) is kinda..... well it works. For a game called THE FORCE UNLEASHED, you'd think there would be more than 6 force powers. See the idea is to be a bad ass by using the force.(and lightsaber of course) At the beginning this goal is achieved. The are TIE fighters that you can lift up and throw at enemies, and it SEEMS that nearly everybody and everything is vulnerable to you ass kicking ways. But shortly after that, (after about the second level) enemies start showing up that you can't always pick up. That's fine and all, but it gets worse. Soon some enemies just become un-grippable (which, is no fun at all) Not long after that some enemies ARE INVULNERABLE TO FORCE POWERS!!! It's a bunch of bullshit It makes for a good challenge, but after a while it's like LEMME USE THE DAMN FORCE. Sure you can always throw something at an group of enemies, but that gets old pretty fast. Sometimes Starkiller can be pretty stiff and jump like a moving stick. There are some pretty f***ked up glitches here and there. The most annoying BY FAR is that sometimes during a boss fight, their health bar wont load. That means they cant die and you can.

Gameplay: 6/10

Ah.. This game is beautiful, not a lot else you can say. Nearly everything is detailed and looks like a part of the Star Wars universe (which it is now). The character models also look great, and animated realistically. (The style that Starkiller uses his lightsaber with is like deadly AND cool looking!) The cut scenes, don't get me started they just look AWESOME! The Star Wars themes by the great John Williams is in full effect here, (the opening and ending credits mirror the films :) ) All sound effects for sabers and blasters are in full effect.

Graphics and Sound: 9/10

There isn't really a whole lot to do once you finish through the game the first time. There are two endings, but only one is canon, and the costume unlocked for the alternate ending isn't worth it at all. That's why most people, like myself should just rent it. I would reget buying this if I did.
Replay Value: 2/10

So, that's just my two cents. I could go into more detail, but you could be watching somebody's video review and not reading this. Overall, the initial experience is really fun, and you could see what they were trying to do. But ultimately, its just not enough for me.

This games story is great.. infact the whole game is great
i must say that i believe there is replay value to collect all the hidden items.
the only thing that lets this game down is that the enviroments become reused later in the game and also that enamies become just healthbars.... they gain resistance to your force powers and just act like road blocks that need to be taken down to reach the next part of the game. In this aspect the game becomes boring.
I found this game amazing ... for the first few hours.
