Hey everybody, this champ0215 and this is the NFL week three recap. Now I know what you’re thinking, the NFL on spill. But I believe there are enough of us out there that are die hard football fans and want a place to talk about it. Well this is the place, I’m hoping. So whatever fan you are, come join me in this Week 3 recap.

ALL CAPS- HOME TEAM
The ATLANTA FALCONS (2-1) defeated the Kansas City Chiefs (0-3) -38-17
Wow talk about two teams going in the opposite directions. Both teams have young quarterbacks. Only problem the Chiefs can’t figure out who their QB is. Worst thing for the Chiefs is that Larry Johnson, sadly on my fantasy football team, is unhappy and isn’t playing his best football. But who could blame him after how his team has played the first three weeks. On the other side, the Falcons are doing just fine. Much better than people expected and right now Matt Ryan is my choice for rookie of the year. By the way, does anyone notice the numbers Michael Turner is putting up?
The BUFFALO BILLS (3-0) defeated the Oakland Raiders (1-2) - 24-23
Not the New England Patriots, not the New York Jets, but the Buffalo Bills are leading the AFC East. Who would have thought? What can you say about Trent Edwards that hasn’t been said? He has played great and because of him they are 3-0. But they did have a little of a slip up against the Raiders. Don’t get me wrong the Bills are the better team, but the Raiders were leading that game until a last second field goal by the Bills to win it. My message to the Raiders is would they PLEASE make up their mind about Lane Kiffin already.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1) defeated the CHICAGO BEARS (1-2) -27-24OT
Well this game really went back and forth. First Chicago was leading, and then Tampa, then Chicago, then Tampa tied it. It got tiring just watching the game. Both teams really wanted this game and Tampa not only came back in the final seconds, they were able to pull off the win in overtime. After starting the season with a tough loss against the Saints, the Bucs have won their last two in pretty good fashion. On the other side, the Bears have been the complete opposite of the Bucs. After shocking everyone on week one against the Colts, Chicago has lost two crushing games. It may be hard for them to recover, but hey it’s only week 3.
The MINNESOTA VIKINGS (1-2) defeated the Carolina Panthers (2-1) -20-10
Before last week I would have told you, the Panthers would win the NFC South and the Minnesota Vikings would miss playoffs. Now I’m not that sure after this game. Carolina came out strong, but for some reason they just fell off. The Vikings, who were down again in this game, came back and got the win they so desperately needed. I guess it was the right idea to bench Tarvaris Jackson and sub in Gus Frerotte. Thinking about it now, I still think the Vikings won’t make the playoffs.
The Miami Dolphins (1-2) defeated the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (2-1) - 38-13
“crying”, I can’t believe it….. I had Ronnie Brown on my bench this week. Ok, but seriously I couldn’t believe what the Dolphins did to the Pats. I have to give props to Joey Porter for calling the win, only after what, the thousandth one. Now fans of both teams please calm down. The Dolphins are still not a great team and the Pats can still make the playoffs. But all of you Pats fans should be just a little concern after this one. But hey it looks like the Dolphins will have more wins this year than they did last year.
The NEW YORK GIANTS (3-0) defeated the Cincinnati Bengals (0-3) -26-23OT
Now I may be a little bias when it comes to the Giants, because I am a Giants fan. That’s right I am a Giant fan since I was in the fifth grade and finally we got a pretty good team. Now in reality the Giants didn’t play their best game. The Bengals, I have to give credit, played their hearts out and almost shock the Giants. But Eli was Eli that day and was able to pull off a gritty victory. Bengals fans, I think you may need a new coach. Only problem who in the hell wants that job? Also where is Ocho Cinco?
The TENNESSEE TITANS (3-0) defeated the Houston Texans (0-2) -31-12
Wow an old face from the Giants getting another chance to start football games. I’m of course talking about Kerry Collins who has come in and has won two and half games. But the force behind the Titans is their defense. That is why they are 3-0. The Texans looked pretty bad in their first two games and really hasn’t given me hope that they will surprise anyone this year.
The WASHINGTON REDSKINS (2-1) defeated the Arizona Cardinals (2-1) -24-17
Hold your horses Cardinals fans, your team might be good, but they aren’t that good yet. Look at the Redskins, they have an awful first game and now they have won two great games against two pretty good teams. Now the Cardinals need to pick up the pieces and get back on the horse because NFC West is open for the picking.
The SAN FRANCISICO 49ERS (2-1) defeated the Detroit Lions (0-3)-31-13
All I got to say is FIRE MATT MILLEN and start over because it’s not working. Niners just keep on doing what you’re doing.
The SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (1-2) defeated the St. Louis Rams (0-3)
Rams SUCK! That’s all I got to say. O by the way Seattle, your division is being taken away from you.
The DENVER BRONCOS (3-0) defeated the New Orleans Saints (1-2) - 34-32
Finally we are done talking about the two worst teams in the league; let’s get to a game that was actually fun to watch. I would have thought that Denver was the best team in the AFC if they had blew out the Saints after being up 21-3. But the Saints fought back, but were never able to take the lead. Two things that will haunt you Saints fans about this game, which was that missed field goal before the half and the two point conversion. Sorry Saints fans. But hey how about those Broncos…..?
The Philadelphia Eagles (2-1) defeated the PITTSBURGH STEELERS (2-1) -15-6
This was a game that I was really excited for, but it did not live up to the hype. The Eagles totally dominated this game and rightfully so won. Hey Giants fans and Cowboys fans, the Eagles are that good. Just hope Eagles fans that McNabb and Westbrook stay healthy. Maybe I shouldn’t have said that, haha. Uhhh… I would be a little concern if I was a fan of the Steelers. Big Ben looked like that shoulder is really bothering him and now Willie Parker is out for Monday Night Football. But hey, don’t worry about the Steelers; they’re still the best team in their division.
The Jacksonville Jaguars (1-2) defeated The INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (1-2) -23-21
Wow did the Jags pick a good day for a win. Not only did they avoid going 0-3, but they beat the Colts in Indianapolis. That could come back to haunt the Colts. But hold on, wait a minute. When was the last time the Colts and Pats both lost on the same day? Anyway, the Colts probably should have won this game, but they didn’t and now the division they have owned for the past years is being taken away. Peyton really needs to get healthy, along with Bob Sanders. Anyway, the Jags really needed this game and they got it.
The BALTIMORE RAVENS (2-0) defeated the Cleveland Browns (0-3) -28-10
So when did the Browns last win an actually football game? Anyone? O yea it was last December. The Browns are terrible and the Ravens took advantage of it. I wonder how many fans are beating the drum for Brady Quinn. And FYI, the Ravens still have a great defense.
The Dallas Cowboys (3-0) defeated the GREEN BAY PACKERS (2-1) – 27-16
Damn it, do have to say it? Fine I’ll say it; the Dallas Cowboys are the best team in the NFL. Happy now? As much as it hurts, it’s true. Dallas went to Green Bay and showed the world that maybe we bought into Aaron Rodgers just a little too early. Green Bay, you’re still the best team in your division, but you’re not one of the elite. Sorry.
The SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (1-2) defeated the New York Jets (1-2) - 48-29
Sorry Brett Favre, but your must win game was stomp on by the Chargers. The Chargers has probably had the worst luck this year. If the games were a minute shorter they would have been 2-0. The Chargers came out and they did what they wanted and handed the Jets a really bad lost. On the Jets side, can anyone name something they did well? Well I’ll give you the special teams, but that’s it. The Jets and Chargers have the same records and probably have the same chance of making the playoffs. But the Chargers are a better team.
Well there it is the Week 3 recap. I hope you all enjoy this. If this is successfully you may see me do this every week. Thank you for reading and I hope you all have a great football weekend.
This Friday I will be making my Week 4 picks.
Thanks again.
Jon.
