STREET FIGHTER CHAMP CHUN-LI GETTING HER OWN MOVIE?
After being kicked in the nuts by Jean-Claude Van Damme so many years ago, the Street Figher movie franchise is ready to go another round. Looks like the movie already has a star and director. How projects move quickly in Hollywood now that no one has a job. Here ya go.
ComingSoon.net has learned that "Smallville" star Kristin Kreuk will play Chun-Li in Hyde Park Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li! Directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak from a Justin Marks script, the action pic starts filming in Thailand in March, 2008. 20th Century Fox will distribute the live-action feature based on Capcom's video The movie is focused on female fighter Chun-Li and her journey for justice.
Oh boy! Nothing like a jouney for justice to start the day. I should know! I can only hope we get plenty of crazy action and catch Chun in the locker room a few times. That's all that I'm asking. But like I said. ACTION ACTION ACTION! Who am I kidding?

It's good to know that fellow Canuk Kristin Kreuk will be playing a big part in the movie. I hope that it will feature more of her acting talents than body because we all know that martial arts movies like that have not done well recently (i.e. "Ultraviolet", "Electra")

Is it me or do fighting games lend them selves better to tv series( if thats your thing) than movies. there are to many story arcs in the avg fighter to do it in 90 min. and while doa was terrible it does show what happens when you stick to the script. good thing the girls were hot.

Never fear, this will bearly be seen(much to the relief of the human race) and disappear about as quickly as DOA. Kristen has all the acting ability of a Daisy Air Rifle and only slighty more action/stunt skills, so I predict a future resident of the Wal-Mart 'premium' movie bin.

your right hatake! chun li doesnt have shit in her back story! all she wants is revenge for her daddy.
with ryu, it has alot of things going on. he wants to be the best fighter in the world but not submit to the evil intent like akuma. he's a wonder, he walks the earth, his story has soo many possiblitys. and they could also show a bit of ken's life too, trying to be the champ in USA and trainning w/ ryu.
but nooooo! its about chun li.
hollywood really pissed me off w/ this shit.

i told my bro about this chun li movie and he asked me, "is it a straight to dvd movie?" HAHA!
the online shorts by college humor will be better than this movie.
and i watched the anime series for a minute and the sf2 stories always revolved around ryu.
there is no legend of chun li. the story is that here dad was killed by m.bison and she wants revenge.

They're hoping to sell it on T&A. I can't claim to be up to speed on the whole, deep Street Fighters mythos, but Chun Li always struck me as the least interesting character of the bunch. I predict bomb, much like that other fighting game movie that came out this summer... whose name I am totally blanking on...
