I discovered from the associated press, some tragic news. Another big name from the entertainment world passed on today. Bill Melendez, who animated works for Disney, Warner Brothers, and the Peanuts animated series, passed away at the age of 91. He also provided the voice for Snoopy and Woodstock for the Peanuts series. For those unfamiliar with Peanuts, think Charlie Brown and Snoopy.
SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) — Bill Melendez, the animator who gave life to Snoopy, Charlie Brown and other "Peanuts" characters in scores of movies and TV specials, has died. He was 91. Melendez died of natural causes Tuesday at St. John's Health Center, according to publicist Amy Goldsmith.
Too many people have died in the entertainment industry this year and It's a crying shame. Is there a single person alive that does not know who these characters are? Those characters are just as iconic as say Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Pluto. Who could possibly forget Linus, Lucy, Charlie brown, Snoopy, and Woodstock? I know I couldn't because Charlie Brown and the gang has been just a part of my childhood as Mickey Mouse and his friends.
Unless you've been living under a rock your whole life, you will have several memories of the Peanuts specials. I will not even have to show you any of the highlights, but in case you are unfamiliar with the characters (shame on you by the way), you can watch the videos to see just how truly special these characters are to many people not only on this site, but all of humanity. If you are already a big fan, watch these videos because they will bring back nostalgia.

Such fun memories! I still watch The Great Pumpkin every Halloween, it's my all time Peanuts favorite. A treat to watch, to remember when all animated shows on TV were hand drawn...no computers here gang! Like a line from a classic Country song.."another piece of America...gone."
Don't be put off by the title; It's the best action movie of the year (despite miserly DVD features [best science fiction was District 9] ).
However I'll add this caveat; just because you watched the best Trek movie in nearly 20 years don't th...
