Fourth Wall has a pretty interesting interview with Mark Millar on the upcoming "KICK ASS" movie and on the future WANTED sequels.

Comic book writer Mark Millar, currently most notable for creating "
WANTED", has three movies in the pipeline (War Heroes, Chosen, and the surprise comic book hit KICK ASS) and is also working on several different comics including Wolverine: Old Man Logan, The Fantastic Four, and 1985. With all this going on, he somehow managed to take some time out of his busy schedule to talk about some of these upcoming movies.
"We don't do options. If you option it you have no real control over it. Anything can happen. The deal that we are doing, we get the director that we want, the producers that we want, and we just make the film or its off the table. That's the plan."
This is great news, especially with the current trend of corporate bigwigs interfering with the creative process and
wussifying our childhood heroes.
The "WANTED" trilogy:

"They'll do 2 and 3. There gonna do a trilogy and James is signed on for the other two."
He emphasizes the point that he won't make any more comics for WANTED because he created the comic as a self-contained story and if he did write more it would just be for the cash. He and J.G. Jones will still be involved in the creative process, however, and will be Executive Producers on the film, but he implies his role will be limited.
The "KICK ASS" film:

"We start filming in three weeks and the movie comes out next year," Millar said. "All of the other characters we nailed really quickly. I know exactly who should play Dave Liezewski because he just got the job last week. It's really hard to get charismatic actors at that age, but we lucked out. We got one, and he's absolutely brilliant. I started to realize why all of the characters in Happy Days are about 42. Because it is really hard to get really good charismatic actors at that age. And we've got McLovin too, from Superbad."

Christopher Mintz-Plasse (forever cursed by the gods to go by the nickname "McLovin") will be playing the character Red Mist, the angry son of a mobster who is out to uncover the secret identity of Kick-Ass.
"The swearing and cutting off people's heads is all gonna be up there on screen because Matthew Vaughn is having it privately funded. So, there is no studio interference. He's raised 60 or 70 million dollars, just by his billionaire friends. He's got 4 billionaire friends that he got together."
Awesome! Not just one billionaire friend, but four!?!? Sheesh!
Millar comics news:

"1985, KICK ASS, Wolverine: Old Man Logan, and Fantastic Four do all tie in together. And Wolverine and Fantastic Four absolutely tie in together. If I am brutally honest, it was a marketing gimmick so the smaller books would get sales. Its really cool because the stories do dovetail into each-other."
It's true, there is a common thread between all the comic books:
