Kevin Smith has, for the third time, won an appeal from the MPAA! According to
Yahoo! News, Zack and Miri Make a Porno (which I was an extra in) is officially rated R. The official MPAA Rating reason has not yet been released, but all that matters is it's rated R without making any more cuts including the 1/2 second clip that caused problems from the board.
In 1994, Smith won an appeal for Clerks from an NC-17 to an R just for its graphic sexual dialogue. In 2004, he won the appeal for Jersey Girl from an R to a PG-13. The scene in question was a scene in which Liv Tyler's character admits to Ben Affleck's character that she masturbates twice a day. In 2001, Smith had to make cuts to Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. To his, and our, surprise Clerks II got an R with no cuts at all.
Anyway, congratulations to Smith and company on the R Rating!
