New video leading up to STAR WARS: 'Clone Wars'

This a new web-video is entitled "The Clones Are Coming" which features some background on the development of the Clone Troopers from Star Wars: Episode II - Attack Of The Clones to Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.

Is is of course being released now to get us pumped for the upcoming Star Wars: Clone Wars movie.

And yet, for all its much-vaunted CGI, I seriously doubt that the new movie will maintain much of the excitement of the original Cartoon Network series.

Maybe I'm wrong, but wasn't the first installment of the clone wars series done completely independent? For instance in the last episode of the first run they had Grievous as a complete bad-ass, however once they got into the second half apparently they then saw clips of Grievous in ep.III and had to work in the shot to his chest. Thus explaining why he became a crotchety old man with a rasp.

Well then, that's different. I concede the point.

Y'know, I wouldn't be negative about the movie because I was such a fan of the Clone Wars animated series, but true to form George Lucas has ruined it kicking Gendy Tartakovsky off the project, disavowing everything he did with it that was cool and adding lots of unconvincing, unnecessary CGI.

I would love for it to be good but the odds are against it.

Then they should've left it as a TV show. So far, it looks like a collection of cutscenes from a Star Wars XBox game.
Every time I watch the trailer my finger instinctively reaches for the "A" button.

Um, is it me or did the animation for this look rather.. Simple? Jerky even. Its not like I expect Wall-e level animation, but this looked rushed to me. Not looking forward to this, purely because of the animation. If you are going to make a CGI film, make it pretty.. Toy Story seemed less jerky then this.

I think this movie will be decent, but if you want new stories from the clone wars, try to pick up Republic. It was a great comic series with a whole bunch of very cool characters.

From all the news I've heard, Genndy Tartakosvky isn't working in this film ;-;
I miss his work and I'm a huge fan of both Samurai Jack and Star Wars Clone Wars.
I hope this movie keeps his style of storytelling, or else I'll be angry...

The CG in this looks like something from xbawks, the clone cartoon series was amazing, I agree with Miere lets move on from this we got the whole story, stop miliking this cow, and try to move into either old republic, or extended universe movies.

Kent...This is how I see it...

Anything he says---Straight from his own mouth---is considered canon. He said that for the last one and I haven't heard him say it for this one. Also, the books are EU--and in my book, that's not canon. Sure, his company may say EU stuff is canon but that's not from Lucas himself. So, unless he says himself, personally, addressing whether what is canon or not...This installment isn't canon and not part of my STAR WARS universe.

We need to see new characters in the Star Wars universe. All we are getting is recycle material.

I would like to see a new adventure. Would be interesting to see if Luke had a son or daughter or even decedents of Skywalker. We need to see something that is totally different but familiar to the fans.
