If it's crap... We'll tell you

The Daily Mail reports that there's a good chance for a "Friends" reunion on cinematic format:

Cast members Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer will reprise their roles for a big-screen adaptation 'within the next 18 months', according to insiders.
The actors have been inspired by the recent success of Sex And The City, which recently hit cinemas worldwide.
A source said: 'Jennifer, Courteney and the rest of the cast are keen to reprise their roles, under the right circumstances.
'The box office success of Sex And The City has really got their wheels spinning about how a Friends film could be just as big, if done right.

Apparently the one element that kept this from happening before was the former Mrs. Pitt:

'What's held back a Friends movie so far is that people were worried that Jennifer had simply become too famous to play Rachel again.
'But the truth is that Jennifer is finally willing to do it, and she'd love to work with that whole team of actors and producers again.

So, basically, because Jen now realized that she is not the great actress Hollywood has been waiting for, and the box office and her lack of acting abbilities have proved it, she did what Molly Ringwald is trying to do -more of that on another blog post- going back to what made you famous. Hey, the girl has got to eat.

We all know that the cast has never been too lucky on the big screen. During the 90s', Courtney Cox seemed like the one ready to fly, with her part on the Scream trilogy, but Jennifer Aniston ended up being the most bankable of them on movies -I blame Brad Pitt for that- As for the others, neither Matt LeBlanc or Lisa Kudrow could ever catch a break, David Schwimer left acting and started directing and Mathew Perry did a couple of mediocre films until setling down on the now defunct show "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip". Cox also returned to TV on the now canceled "Dirt".

I'm gonna be honest here , I liked "Friends", I did. Yeah, it had bad acting, yeah, it had predictible plots, yeah, sometimes it was too saccharine, but it was fun -admittedly it's much more entertaining if you're a kid when you watch it- and we can't deny it's impact on popular culture. Now that being said, I believe this is a horrible idea. We don't need a Friends movie.
