After three seasons,
Chris Noth – "Mr. Big" from “
Sex and the City” is leaving
Law & Order:Criminal Intent.
Noth played 'Detective Mike Logan' on the original Law & Order series from 1990 to ’95 and in a “Law & Order” TV movie but left to pursue
other career avenues. After "
Sex and the City" ended its run on HBO he came back on “Criminal Intent” starting in 2005.
“When others couldn’t get television shows produced in New York, Dick Wolf found a way to do it, and as a New Yorker I truly appreciate all that he has done for the city,” Noth said in a statement.
“The last few years have been fantastic, and both sides are happy with the result. All’s well that ends well,” Noth said.

Sex and the City, one of the hottest movies of the summer,
Chris Noth's agent has convinced him that his film career is ready to take off.
ENTER THE FLY
"Jeff Goldblum will be joining “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” , according to a series spokeswoman .
“Jeff’s presence will add a new dimension to an already successful show,” series creator Dick Wolf said.
Jeff Goldblum recently starred in the short-lived NBC series “Raines” but is mostly known as a film actor with credits that include “
Jurassic Park,”
“The Lost World,” “
Independence Day” and “
The Fly.” He shared an Academy Award nomination in 2005 for the live-action short film “Little Surprises.”
TRUE CONFESSION
I tend to not like police dramas (except "The Shield) because of the unrealistically positive way they portray cops as dedicated to the pursuit of justice...but I am a sucker for that Law & Order:Criminal Intent. It's that damn Vincent D'Onofrio! I just love that guy and I hated when they split the episodes between him and Chris Noth. Now I think that bringing on Jeff Goldblum to fill that slot is just about
perfect. You need a guy who can match Vinnie D for being a super-smart weirdo.
ON A SIDE NOTE: Now that we've had to suffer through 2 fairly $#itty
Fantastic Four movies I think you will all agree with me that I was on the money when I claimed that
Jeff Goldblum would've been my first choice to cast as
MR. FANTASTIC.

He nailed it as the quirky genius in
The Fly. I just hope his role as a detective on Law & Order won't be too much of a...
streeeeeeeetch.
