G.I. JOE: Rise of Cobra

It appears that the currently in production G.I. JOE film, which stars Channing Tatum as Duke, has joined the long string of movie franchises just simply adopting a subtitle so as to keep the option of a long, non-numerical franchise. Just like Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen dropped the “2″, this first edition is getting a little bit of subtitle treatment.
How do we know that the film will now be called G.I. JOE: Rise of Cobra? Telepathy… Alright, maybe not. It could however, have something to do with the poster seen below, which was spotted on a billboard at Cinema EXPO in Amsterdam and posted to Film1.nl. Have a look for yourself below:

As you can see, the film hits theaters in 2009.
