Maxwell Smart is back people and he's in the form of Steve Carell, and does the big screen version of the classic 1960s miss it by that much? Let's take a look!

We meet Maxwell Smart (Carell) who is an analyst working for CONTROL. One day after CONTROL has been attacked, the head of CONTROL known as The Chief (Arkin) discovers that the long time enemy organization of CONTROL's known as KAOS has discovered the identities of all their agents and they hire a new agent. Max! So with the help of his new partner Agent 99 (Hathaway) and with the famous Agent 23 (Johnson) helping out with the mission back at headquarters, they go on probably the most outrageous spy mission in movie history! They are trying to stop KAOS VP Siegfried (Stamp) from starting a new nuclear war.

Now I have never watched any episodes of the original show created by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry, who they both serves as consultants on the movie, so I looked up some information on Get Smart on the internet and asked my dad about somethings about the show since he used to watch it, and I knew a shitload about Get Smart heading in so that I could enjoy the movie even more. This is a really perfect summer movie and an insanily funny movie as well. Steve Carell is pitch-perfect here as Maxwell Smart and Don Adams would have been proud of Carell and this is Carell's best movie and certianly makes up for Evan Almighty from last summer. Anne Hathaway is so good here as Agent 99 andnow on kick ass BITCH! Dwayne Johnson is really good here in the big man on campus type character, Adam Arkin is so goddamn perfect as The Chief. Seeing Terence Stamp playing a villian once again is just damn good decision making. Now the director here Peter Segal has done some shitty movies before and done some pretty good ones and the way he directs this movie by evening out the comedy and action is really good and proves that he can be a good film maker. This movie is so much fucking fun and that really my only complain about this movie is that it seemed to drag a little bit towards the end but that's just a tiny problem. Now I'm gonna go off and try to find some DVDs of the original show.
