The Only Person Not Excited About The Dark Knight is....?
Pretty much everyone I know can't wait to see The Dark Knight and I'm pretty sure the film is going to be as good as everyone hopes it will be. Well, almost everyone as there's always one person who has to go and piss on everyone's parade. This time it's Batman himself! The original Batman though.
Adam West, who played Batman in the TV show in the 1960s has decided to give us his "in my day" speech and complain that kids these days just don't use their imaginations because they're too busy playing their Pacman video games and watching movies where stuff gets blown up.
When asked how he felt about the current Batman films and the upcoming release of The Dark Knight, he moaned:
Adam West clearly thinks that punching someone as the word 'Pow' simultaneously comes up on screen is a much better portrayal of dark and complex characters.

I've only seen bits and pieces of them, there's an enormous amount of effort and time and money that goes into the making of them, but it's a different generation. They're a different kind of thing than ours was. They're dark, gothic, sinister, full of explosions. We didn't approach it that way at all."

It was silly and funny. With the villains, especially, it was almost Shakespearian because of the bizarre costuming and makeup. In those days we didn't rely on special effects as much so everyone was challenged to use their imaginations. I don't remember any case in which somebody didn't really enjoy the creation of it. If it wasn't that kind of open environment, then I felt like I was a failure because I tried to go on the stage every day and create that kind of atmosphere."

I used to watch the Adam West version as a kid and it was fine until Bruce Timm came along and ROCKED MY F*CKING WORLD with 'Batman The Animated Series'. So as much as i love watching those 60's episodes for light entertainment i'm gonna have to go with.....
Because its the closest thing to live action version of BTAS and Kevin Conroys' portrayl of Bruce Wayne AND The Dark Knight

He's been bitter since Tim Burton's Batman, I'm not surprised here. I bet he loved the horrible campy direction Batman took when they Schmuached it up. I don't care what he thinks.
This man is not excited.... on noes, the Dark Knight must suck then. >_>
