A Remake of The Exorcist Leaves a Really Bad Taste in My Mouth

News out of this past weekend's International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival at the Harkins Centerpoint Theate in Tempe - Linda Blair, there to introduce THE EXORICST, hinted that a remake of the film is in the works.... and judging by the look on her face, she's not happy about it!

It has officially gotten out of hand.

Remake The Hitcher, fine.

Remake Halloween, You're off your rocker but whatever.

Go ahead and remake Nightmare on Elm Street if you want. You'd be an idiot but sure, if it makes you happy.

But The Exorcist? Remaking The Exorcist? You do remember it won two Oscars and is remembered by many if not most as the scariest horror film ever made? What's next, Jaws? Is there a memo going around in Hollywood that horror movies are beneath contempt and therefore only sources of income from stupid people? That's REALITY shows you're thinking of. I mean, you wouldn't remake The Godfather would you? Why would you even dream of remaking The Exorcist?

It sounds like its gonna happen no matter what we do. Anyone with any real taste for movies will just lett it pass like a kidney stone. The rest of us will pop the original into our DVD player and watch the wonder time and time again.

The money is already in the bank, from the hordes of people who want to see it and find whether or not it lives up to expectations.

They've made the profit before the release
