The Bat, The Cat, and The Penguin. After the 1989 release of "Batman" mad more money than GOD, a sequel was so in the works. Now let us see how this second chapter of the Batman film series matched up to the first one.
Its Christmas time in good old Gotham City and one of Gotham's most respected men and biggest business mogules Max Shreck (Walken) is making friends with the penguin who had been living in the sewers for 33 years after his parents for being born disformed. He is later revealed as Oswalkd Copplepot otherwise known as The Penguin (DeVito). Meanwhile Selina Kyle (Pfeiffer) was just uncovered that Shreck is planning on building a new powerplant in Gotham that would actually suck power from Gotham and is pushed out of the window by Shreck and is brought back to life by cats and becomes the revenge filled Catwoman. Bruce Wayne (Keaton) is trying to figure out why Shreck is having The Penguin run for mayor of Gotham and Bruce as Batman is trying to stop both Penguin and Catwoman from causing chaos and havoc throughout Gotham City
WOW! This movie was something else in both the good and bad way. But more good. Now this was better than "Batman" in my mind. Michael Keaton was once again great here as Bruce Wayne/Batman and was pretty mysterious here as he was in the first one. Danny DeVito here as The Penguin is wonderful! I like this version of The Penguin better than the comic book version because he was completely fucking crazy and really unpredictable. That's what I loved about him here in this movie. Michelle Pfeiffer was sexy and very good as Catwoman. just right for it. Now this movie was a lot darker than "Batman" and I thought that was good but parents of young children didn't think so. So what happened, Burton gets bumped from directing a third Batman movie. But more on that to come in my next review.
