70 more minutes of the HULK? On WHAT?

Ummm...Excuse me? Oh. $#*%.

Leon made a post containing a recent interview with director Louis Leterrier about all things Incredible Hulk. And he let slip a giant, geekgasm inducing bomb. An incredible 70 extra minutes of The Incredible Hulk. AWESOME. OMG! OMG! POSSIBLE HULK DIRECTORS CUT!!! I CAN'T.....wait a second. Where did you say this magical 70 minutes would be appearing?

Louis Leterrier: Blue-Ray

Carlyle's angry internal monologue: Ummm...what? You mean it's not going to be on DVD???

Louis Leterrier: No the Blue-Ray…it’s whatever we can put on the DVD. Like DVD’s you have like 3 hours of like yeah…you have a limit of 3 hours of footage and stuff. The Blue-Ray you have something like 100 hours, so if they do a double DVD but like the Blue-Ray is what’s going to be good. So on the Blue-Ray I’m trying to put as much of the stuff…I want to put everything we shot, you know? I’m not the kind of guy that likes to keep the stuff for myself. I’m like, okay you student filmmakers, here’s what I did right and here’s what I did wrong and in some of the stuff, in the 70 minutes, there’s some great stuff and there’s some really horrible stuff, but you’ll see it all, you know?

Ummm...the #*&% you say. It will be Blue-Ray only? What the hell? What about those of us who don't have the cash to spend on the Laserdisc of our era? What about those of us not willing to drop $500 on something that needs constant firmware updates just to function, only to spontaneously CEASE to function after said updates? What about us.

Fictional Sony Rep: You? You're screwed.

Horse $#*%. This is what I was afraid of - the minute someone won this accursed middle step format war, we would see the much sought after special features as the selling point to get people like me - collectors who don't give a rats ass about how high a resolution they can crank out - to have to switch over. Back when Laserdisc was king, that made sense. You couldn't fit all those features onto a VHS tape. But we've been doing it for a decade on DVD - and there's no reason to stop now. If this is the very first of a disturbing trend, I am going to be one VERY unhappy camper. I will not switch formats to get extra features that should be available on the current format.

Hopefully this is just Leterrier talking and the studio knows better than to be known as the first release to make Blue-Ray a required format for content. We'll see.

bluray players have been available as a pc dvd drive since 05 at least. I remeber because of where i was working at the time. I didnt move out of that job til 2005. As a home theater player you might be right. I seem to remeber them being for sale for christmas 05. The real point is the upgrade argument though. we both agree that blu ray will be here awhile.

people seem to feel that they are oewd something buy the movie companies as consumers they really "owe" us nothing. if we want it we buy it. If not we don't.

1st of you missed the point. blue ray showed up as a consumable in what01- 02? i'm pretty sure that's recent. It just became affordable 2 years ago. the first players were like 1000 bucks. Im not saying downloadable content is not available. im saying there are people who wont or dont do it. plus not everyone has the internet capability to grab a 4-8gig movie.
everyone with cable or dsl or fios assumes everyone has it. well the majority of people still dial up. it will be awhile before hispeed is as common as people seem to think it actually is.

to asnwer petvrpg. alot of people care about hi def . tecnology will almost alwasy get better. thank you for stating the obvious. we are talking about the $$$ value of getting on board with blu-ray now. obviously people care . carlyle cares or he wouldnt even bring it up. kent cares cuz he has one. I care cuz i want one. . any other questions.

carlyle is in the right. if the extended awesomeness doesn't fit, add another disc. or three. it'll probably still be about eight hundred bucks cheaper.

you sure about That Co-Host ??????? remenber that VHS beat Beta because Beta had no porn . if porn is not going for the technology... then is a bad idea.

Hey! No one starts a rumble without me! There must be a party goin' on here and I'm ready to crash it!
All you guys are so stupid! Everyone knows Beta is better than VHS! You dopes! What's going on here? This is about what? Blue-Ray...what a dumb ass name for a game system. Nothing will ever touch the quality and the
3-D realism of a View Master Show Beam NOTHING BITCHES! SUCK ON THAT! HAHAHAHA
