Star Wars: Clone Wars poster, images and interview with George Lucas
Fans of the Cartoon Network miniseries, Star Wars: Clones Wars (the only good thing to come out of Star Wars since the Ewoks took back Endor), already know that the story takes place between the 2nd and 3rd Star Wars prequels.
"Whatever it is that happens afterward, that isn't the core 'Star Wars' story that I like to tell. There really isn't any story to tell there," Lucas said. "It's been covered in the books and video games and comic books, which are things I think are incredibly creative but that I don't really have anything to do with other than being the person who built the sandbox they're playing in."
"I get asked all the time, 'What happens after "Return of the Jedi"?,' and there really is no answer for that," he said. "The movies were the story of Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker, and when Luke saves the galaxy and redeems his father, that's where that story ends."
" 'The Clone Wars' is a lot of fun for me, because in the normal course of the Skywalker saga, what happened during the Clone Wars is never told -- we see a little of the beginning and a little of the end, but other than that, it's skipped over," Lucas said.

But you are acting the way every Lucas basher is acting. You're just deriding him for the prequels. If he sucked as a creative entity then wouldn't have been able to make the original trilogy.

Whatever, dude. Lucas sucks as a creative entity- Remember, he loves the prequels but hates The Empire Strikes Back. But he's great at raising money and pushing Star Wars projects through.
George Lucas was a guy who was lucky enough to practically self-finance a movie no studio wanted to bet on and it became a monster hit. From there he's had the juice to do whatever he wants. How sad that what he wanted to do was The Phantom Menace. :(

I do feel that George Lucas has lost his touch somewhat, but I also think people are being ungrateful and sometimes seem to forget his past achievements, which were extraordinary to say the least.
