Box Office Report: Forbidden Kingdom Debuts #1
Four new films debut in the top ten...
The Forbidden King debuted #1 at the box office this weekend, earning $20.8 million. The film also had the highest per theater average of any in the top ten with $6,623 per theater.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall debuted #2 with $17.3 million.
Prom Night fell two spots to #3 in its second weekend, earning $9.1 million to bump its total up to $32.5 million.
88 Minutes debuted at #4 with $6.8 million.
Nim's Island fell one spot to #5 with $5.6 million, improving its three week total to $32.8 million.
21 fell three spots to #6 in its forth weekend, earning $5.5 million to improve its total gross to $69.9 million.
Street Kings fell five spots to #7 in its second weekend, earning $4 million to improve its total gross to $19.8 million.
Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears A Who! fell two spots to #8 with $3.5 million, bringing its total six week cume to $144.4 million.
Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed debuted at #9 with $3.1 million.
Leatherheads rounded out the top ten, falling five spots and earning $3 million to bring its total gross to $26.5 million in three weeks.
