Movie Remakes: Take one!

Right now I'm bloody well stuck for my end of term papers so my mind throws this at me: "What movie was a great redo and which just plain sucked?" I like it when my mind throws these loops at me cause it helps me to procrastinate jut that little bit longer. It also helps me finish my work, but that's neither here nor there. I'm a newbie, so I have no idea if this topic came already. I'm also horrible with the names of movies right now because of this end of term crap, but I'm sure you, the Spill community, will know what I'm talking about.

Most recent one I could remember starred Adam Sandler, pro footballer thrown into prison. The original was done by Burt Renoylds. The first had a gritty feel to it, more serious. I like the remake, firstly, Adam was in it and secondly, lets face it, it was funny. Not too gritty, but still kept a semblence to the original and fun to look at.
