I just saw Southland Tales the newest movie from the writer/director of Donnie Darko, Richard Kelly. I'm really disappointed spill didn't have a review for this movie. I don't think it's the piece of crap a lot of people said it was. There's some parts of the movie that I think the government would say are unpatriatoic. The whole movie takes place in a not too distant future (now alternate present) where world war 3 is a reality. The government has marshall law, has reinstated the draft, you need travel visas to travel to state to state which are frozen during terror alert red, and a whole bunch of other shit. I thought it was very good, at least as good as Donnie Darko, and call me a conspiracy nut, but I think the only reason this movie didn't get out to as many places as it could've is because the government was holding it back.
