good news: I survived midterms (last one this past Wednesday, only 4 assignments left).
bad news: exams start one week from tomorrow.
conclusion: I'm still alive but I'm not sure for how much longer.
movie news: I saw The Fountain the other day.. I wanted to like it sooo much because it's really pretty.. but.. it just didn't quite do it. One of those time warped movies.. but then they have to throw in Hugh Jackson as the main lead and still try to call it artsy! I guess the holes just weren't filled in enough for me.. and the ending was like random flashes of time folding in on itself. Pretty, but confusing. Kind of like the ending of "There Will Be Blood". What was with that??? Let's draw the movie out as long as possible.. and then when we realize we've gone over the 2 hour mark try to bring 30 years together into 15 min.. oh, an ending? Just have him bash the preacher guy's head in. Seriously!!! Atonement = AWESOME! No Country for Old Men = .. violent but fun! = awesome. I don't remember what other noteworthy movies I've seen. If it weren't for the specific fact that I streamline while studying to help keep me focused (study an hour, watch 15 min.. study an hour, watch 15 min) I'd call myself pathetic. Did I just try to defend myself by using the excuse that I study constantly rather than spending all my money going somewhere public like the theatre???
in other news: in 2 days we'll have saved enough to cover what I owe thus far in OSAP dollars! Here's to saving all summer to cover NEXT year's tuitition!
i'm off
