The SIGNS are not good for M. Night Shyamalan's new movie, 'The Happening'

I remember hearing M. Night Shyamalan interviewed on the Howard Stern show where he recounted his journey with his last movie, 'Lady In The Water'. Disney was ready to go with it but didn't really like the ending, which made him cry (no joke). After crying about it for a few days and searching his feelings, Shyamalan decided that Disney "didn't believe in the project" and he too it to Warner Bros., who was more than willing to give him complete creative control.

I don't know how many of you were 'lucky' enough to see Lady In The Water in the theater, but it's an unintentionally silly movie capped off with a ridonkulous ending you have to see to believe. This is compounded by a scene where Shyamalan stops the whole film to make a statement by killing the movie critic character.

It's just too bad for him he couldn't have killed off all movie critics for real (or made a better movie) because it sounds like he'll be getting no love for his next movie, 'The Happening'.

A reviewer who read the shooting script at Gone Elsewhere claimed The Happening demonstrated that “M. Night had hit rock bottom,” adding that the movie features “the most moronic environmentalism in cinema history”.
He went on to say that the script contains numerous unintentional laugh out loud moments and that "The late night comedy guys are going to have a field day. It will be Christmas in July for the Shyamalan detractors of the world."

"The Day after Tomorrow…with plants."

The movie tells the story of a family (Mark Wahlberg, Zooey Deschanel) on the run from an apocalyptic crisis that threatens humanity. The threat appears to be an airborne virus that causes people to commit suicide.

You can see the trailer here.

I actually enjoyed Lady in the Water I didn't like the fact that so many people went into it thinking it would be scary
but then again (and I am not ashamed of this) I love ALL of those shitty artsy movies (weakness that I adore)
I liked Southland Tales for Christ's sake

This thing looks like it'll hit the box office with a resounding THUNK and be D.O.A. before the week is out.

He should only be a director, not a writer. Get him a good writer and all his films would be awesome.

M. Night Shya...ah, whatever. This guy is a GREAT director but he certainly isn´t a good writer. He should really stop his ego-tripping and leave the writing to someone who knows about his job.
And the new trailer: Doesn´t look too promising either. I kind of feel bad for Zooey Deschanel... :(

Oh man, this movie sounds so bad that it might be an "entertaining watch" much like an Ed Wood movie. I was never a huge fan of his work, so it isn't a surprise to me that his next movie maybe crap.

I've seen pretty much all of his movies (except Lady in the Water) and only like the Six Sense and Signs. The rest were garbage. Pure garbage.

I hated Unbreakable to the point that I was almost offended by it. Comics are nothing more than an entertainment genre, that's it.

Frankly I've seen most of his films and I don't know what people are fussing over? Ah well I guesse it's just me.

GOOD
sixth sense
signs
village

Bad
lady in the water

Unknown
unbreakable

no one has a perfect record but two flops in a row are never good. Therefore I say we reserve judgment until we see the movie.

Hey I like Lady in the Water M. Night is a good director imo. People just love to jump on him because his other movies don't live up to the Sixth Sense.
