DVD Review: Beowulf (2007)
In the age of heroes comes the mightiest warrior of them all, Beowulf. After destroying the overpowering demon Grendel, he incurs the undying wrath of the beast's ruthlessly seductive mother, who will use any means possible to ensure revenge. The ensuing epic battle resonates throughout the ages, immortalizing the name of Beowulf.
Well you knew it was coming. Another review of Beowulf...on Dvd. So its now unrated so that means more nude Angelina Jolie and some cool making of videos showing how a fat guy like Ray Winstone made this possible. So ill tell you everything you need to know about the one disc unrated version of Beowulf.
The Making Of Beowulf:
It was pretty cool to see how it was made but the making of was to me way to short for a movie like this. It should have been long and show you how they animated this. But all they show you are all the actors doning what they did in the movie just in real life. But it was funny to see everyone dress up like there character in the movie. Too bad Angelina Jolie didnt reprise her role. Damnit!!!! Rating- 9.5/10
The Art Of Beowulf:
The pictures were incredible to look at. The artist did a great job doing them and its pretty cool to see a few models of the land of Beowulf. Probably the highlight of the special features. Rating- 10/10
How They Created Beowulf:
This was pretty cool and i really enjoyed it so ill think you guys will also. I dont want to give anything away with this cause ts something that you have to see. I want to look like Beowulf Damnit. How come Ray is so lucky. Rating- 9/10
Overall Rating- 9.5
Now the rest you have to find out yourself cause i dont want to give everything away but of course they have to put the simple things in there like the previews and the Beowulf trailer. So lets talk about the trailers.
Ironman Trailer:
It was pretty cool and i dont think this will be the best adaptation of a comic book ever but it will be a really good one at best. Rating- 8/10
The Kite Runner On DVD
Well i missed this at the theaters and guess what, im going to also miss it on dvd cause this shit looks boring as balls. Rating- 5/10
Ok so back to Beowulf since i got that out of the way. here we go lets rate this bitch on more time and remember to buy this shit as soon as you can.
The Regular Version
Plot: A fantastic plot. It might not come from the poem but thats actually good cause then this movie would be one big fucking bore and thank you Robert Zemeckis for doing that. Rating- 10/10
Acting: Even though there not in front of the camera really, they do a fantastic job. And of course the highlight of this movie is Ray Winstone cause i never really heard of him until this movie. Rating- 10/10
Animation: The best animation ever. Man even someones fuckin toe nail is so detailed that you just want to reach out and touch it. It might look weird a couple of times but shit they did i real good job. Rating- 9.75/10
Action: Man fuck every other movie with dragon in it. This dragon is fuckin awesome and Grendal looked fuckin sweet also and that dragon fight was the best fight scene i have seen since BraveHeart. Rating- 10/10
Overall Rating- 9.9/10
