Adam

So I go downstairs this morning and my mom's at the computer. She calls me over and says "Have you seen this?" For the next minute or so I'm watching a trailer for a movie called Adam, a romantic comedy about a guy with Asperger Syndrome.

First of all, I have Asperger Syndrome, so I'm a little curious if they will do this movie right. The thing is, not only was I currently writing a screenplay about an Aspie based on my own struggles, but my freaking name is Adam. So not only did they steal my idea, but they stole my name.

Actually, I'm not mad about anything. I'm astonished by the coincidence, and I'm looking forward to the film to see if they portray Asperger Syndrome respectably. From the trailer it looks like they did a pretty good job, plus Fox Searchlight picked it up, so it's probably pretty good. I figure it won't top Rain Man for me as far as movies about people with autism goes, but hey, it looks good.

The movie comes out July 29, if I have interested you at all.
