CRASH is coming to TV as a series

In 2004 the movie CRASH won Oscars for Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay and for Editing. I guess it only makes sense that it's coming to TV as a dramatic series later this year.

13-episode, one-hour series will air on cable's Starz cahnnel as its first original drama series. I don't get the Starz channel and nobody I know does either, but it has overl 30 million subscribers. So far no casting choices have been announced.

It will be interesting to see if they replace Matt Dillon with Kevin Dillon.

Why? Why are they making this into a show?

I heard Don Cheadle signed up for this. Any word on weather Paul Haggis is directing/writing?

I really can't see this as an ongoing show. Is Hollywood running out of ideas? I'm puzzled.
