5. Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds (360, PS3)

You will be able to once again fight as your favorite characters from Marvel and Capcom. DLC is also planned which will add even more characters to the roster. Just to name a few of already on the roster: Deadpoll, Hulk, X-23, Dante, Viewtiful Joe, Chris Redfield, and Ryu. There are of course more on the roster but I didn't want to list all of them.

Doctor Doom has assembled the greatest villains of the Marvel Universe and has joined forces with Albert Wesker in order to unite their respective universes in an effort to conquer both. However, this course of action awakens a great and powerful threat that could potentially destroy both worlds. It is up to the heroes of the Marvel and Capcom universes to put a stop to this evil before it is too late.

Deadpool vs Dante?

Release date: February 15

4. Batman: Arkham City (PC, 360, PS3)

Arkham City is the sequel to possibly one of the best batman games ever. We of course know that Joker is in the game but Two Face, Catwomen, Hugo Strange, and Mr. Freeze are just a few of the other characters we will see in the game. Once again the player will have to defeat your enemies by using stealth and all of Batman's gadgets will be at your disposal.

The story for Arkham City is, one year after the events of the first game Quincy Sharp, former warden of Arkham, has become mayor of Gotham. As neither Arkham or Blackgate are in any condition to hold inmates, Sharp buys out a large section of Gotham's slums and arms the perimeter with private military contractors from a group called Tyger. The prisoners are brought inand are given free rein, as long as they do not attempt escape. I'm pretty sure we can assume something goes wrong and its up to Batman to save the day, or night.

Release date: Q3

3. Infamous 2 (PS3)

The game takes place very soon after the events of the first game with Cole MacGrath as the main character again. The game is set in a new city called New Marais. It is also said that your save from the original Infamous will affect how Infamous 2 plays out. Like the first game the player can use Cole's powers to be a hero or you can go the other way and be as evil as you want.

The story is to stop The Beast from destroying mankind, Cole heads to New Marais in search of a scientist who is believed to hold the key to defeating The Beast. Along the way Cole must learn to harness some new powers for the sake of mankind.

Release date: TBA 2011

2. Portal 2 (360, PS3, PC, Mac)

Like the first game the player will be solving puzzles in test chambers using the portal gun, which can create two portals that connect. Players solve puzzles by using these portals to move between rooms or to use the ability to move objects or themselves across a distance. Its way cooler then I'm making it sound.

The story is after the first game the main character has been in stasis for several hundred years while GLaDOS and the rest of the Aperture Science has fallen into disrepair. Chell, the main character from the first game, is awakened but so is GLaDOS whom is immediately displeased at Chell's return and begins testing her again. I'm guessing we are going to get more lies about cake.

Release date: April 18

1. L.A. Noire (PS3, 360)

This is the game I am most excited for this year. This is notably different from what Rockstar usually does because there is no choice of good or bad. You are purely a good guy in the game. A cop at a time when there is corruption everywhere around you. You start as a beat cop which is basically your training for the game, but soon move up to different areas for example the next is a traffic cop. This involves you investigating cases involving cars, ex: hit and run. Then you eventually move on to homicide.

L.A. Noire is using a newly developed technology called MotionScan, where actors are recorded by 32 surrounding cameras to capture facial expressions from every angle. You might be asking, well why would they want to do that? Well I will tell you. As an officer you will be interviewing and questioning suspects in the cases you are working. Well if a suspects is lying the player will be able to tell by a facial expression they make. The player will need to determine this by looking for nervous ticks or an expression that the suspect makes. Along with this the look of a 1940s/50s L.A. was recreated in the game.

Now for the story, it is said that a lot of the cases you will be working in the game are based on real life cases from the time period. This means there might be a chance of The Black Dahlia being one of the cases. Anyway you play Cole Phelps who like I said before is a good cop. This of course means that on top of dealing with the criminal cases you come upon, you also have to deal with corruption all around you. You arrive at crime scenes and collect the evidence. It isn't all that simple though the player will also have to find evidence at the scene which will eventually lead to suspects and so on. It is a sandbox game but it is a very linear story. I guess if it were to be compared to something I guess it would be a mix of Heavy Rain, GTA IV, and Mafia 2.

Release date: Q2

I know there might be some complaints about Mass Effect 3 not being on here. The truth is that I have never played Mass Effect 1 or 2 because well I don't think my PC can run it and I have a PS3. So until Mass Effect 2 comes out on PS3 and I see how I like it Mass Effect 3 it isn't on my top 5 list. Just seeing trailers alone don't have me excited for it.

Possibly one of the best Batman games ever?

It's nothing short of a fact that it's the greatest Batman game ever.

With the exception of Dead Space 2, this is a fantastic list; it's going to be a great year for games

to ZPowers - it wouldn't be much of an argument. I can't think of any other Batman games that can even come close to stacking up against the sheer legendary-ness of Arkham Asylum. It is easily "The Best" Batman game ever. Argument over.

That is until Arkham City comes out, then the people can re-submit their case to the courts.

One qualm: Batman: Arkham City is the sequel to not "possibly one of the best Batman games ever" but definitely one on the best Batman games ever. It is more accurately "arguably the best Batman game ever."
