Rugrats (1991-2004)
What Ruined It:
Rugrats In Paris (2000), Rugrats Go Wild (2003); also the TV series All Grown Up! (2003-2008)
Why:
The creation of the TV series All Grown Up ruined Rugrats because it was unnecessary to bring the Rugrats to their teenage years, facing problems. I mean the All Growed Up TV special was good, because seeing the Rugrats all grown up was good in only small doses. We only wanted to see a glimpse, and the crossover movie Rugrats Go Wild, that crossed over with another Nicktoon, The Wild Thornberrys, was also unnecessary and wasn't even all that funny.

Doug (1991-1994)
What Ruined It:
Doug's 1st Movie (1999); also the Disney version of the series (1996-1999)
Why:
The Disney version of the series was so different from the Nick version because of the characters and the movie didn't make it any better, because it was more like an extra long episode instead of a full length movie, it would have worked better as a straight-to-video or TV movie.

Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005-2008)
What Ruined It:
The Last Airbender (2010)
Why:
The film adaptation of this series was souless and lacked the heart of the TV series. It had little to no humor and pretty much changed whatever was good about the TV series.

Hey Arnold! (1996-2004)
What Ruined It:
Hey Arnold! The Movie; also the "The Journal" special
Why:
The plot of the film was so unrealistic and that's what separated it from the TV series. Every episode in the series had real situations and problems people face in everyday life, and the film's plot should have been different, and just like the Doug movie, should have felt much more cinematic and less like a TV movie. The same thing with The Journal special.

Comment by Mario on December 26, 2010 at 9:11pm I agree with Tea Party Rat. Judging by the many years that the shows were on, I think they did pretty damn well for being on-air for many years. When did those movies come out? For example, Avatar: The Last Airbender had a beginning, middle, and an end. The backslash of the movie caused many people to buy the T.V. series, and now they are going to make another limited series. Personally, I never liked Hey Arnold.I liked Recess a lot more. Also, didn't these shows have episodes that show their futureself and what they are going end up as?
