I don't get all the Allen haters.  Dude shows up out of his own free will and I think Korey even said that he doesn't get paid on an episode of LDT.  To be honest, having Allen on the show makes the show seem more personal.  Instead of having a "show" vibe, Allen, and the rest of the crew, give off a vibe like these dudes are just kicking it.  They are just shooting the shit, like I would do with my friends.

I'm with MouthForWar.   Alan's gotta go and the sooner the better.  He sucks all the oxygen out of the room and grinds everything to a dead stop.

It took a while to get used to Billy changing the balance of LDT when he came on board.  Korey has pointed out how he had to drop some of his catchphrases like "Electric Boogiealoo" and learn when to step in without stepping all over Korey and Co-Host.   Co-Host was notorious for his own catchphrase "Don't Tell Me Your Problems" but I haven't heard him say that in years.   Like he said in this podcast, he dropped the "Oooh, ooh, that's my favorite" even though Korey still cracks up when he says it (and so do I).

What keeps the show fresh is Korey and Co-Host, and now Billy, know when they've run a bit into the ground and its time to let it go even though it still might generate laughs.  Co-Host was the one who suffered most when Billy came on-board, but he has since found the proper balance being part of a a trio instead of a duo.

But Alan isn't getting any better. He's gotten worse.  He hasn't learned anything from his months of appearances on the show.  He mumbles.  He speaks in a dead monotone.  He can't tell a story or a joke to save his life.  The phrase "dead air" was created for Alan because whenever the focus is on the shit he says, LDT stops DEAD in its tracks.

Since Korey is the Man who makes it happen, I know he's not going to kick Alan to the curb until he leaves town, but has anyone noticed when Korey is out of town and Co-Host has had to put together the podcast, you'll hear Leon and you'll hear Billy, but Alan usually is absent as well?

That just tells me how utterly useless and how little Alan adds to LDT.  He might be a nice guy, but he's got no business anywhere near a lively podcast because he's the antithesis of "lively."   Say what you will about Korey, but you can't say the brother is dumb.  He knows Alan generates heat and comments even if he doesn't add anything to the show.  Controversy always sells.

However, time for Alan means less time for Billy (who is still a work-in-progress) and it definitely cramps Co-Host's style.  You can tell how exasperated and frustrated he gets when Alan mumbles into the mic something stupid as fuck and kills the momentum because now everyone has to stop and talk about the dumb shit Alan just said.

This guy is like an annoying bit player on a sitcom that somehow ends up bogarting the spotlight.

Alan is the new Urkel.

Allan seems like a nice enough guy and you can tell he's trying, but I honestly think he has to go.  Every time he mumbles something on the mic, it stalls these podcasts.  I've been listening for years and I never get so irritated as when he gets time on the mic.  I'm sure he's an awesome dude, but he's a podcast KILLER.  Some people just weren't meant to be on the mic because they just aren't good speakers.  I know he's trying, but his whole segment about people doing crack was an irritating waste of time that never went anywhere.
