Unused 'Revenge Of The Sith' Concept Art Reveals Young Han Solo

Earlier today, a rumor broke that Disney/Lucasfilm is planning a spin-off film that will revolve around a younger version of Han Solo. Apparently, this is not the first time that sprat Solo was due to appear in a 'Star Wars' film after the original trilogy. It seems George Lucas had planned for a ten-year-old Han to appear in 'Revenge of the Sith.' He was to be living on Kashyyk, raised by Chewbacca, and even had a dialogue exchange with Yoda in which he gives a vital clue to General Grievous' location. The dialogue never made it to the finished script, but Lucas did commission concept art for little Han, as you can see below. Take a look at the images and let us know what you think.

I'm glad this idea was set aside. While it would have been nice to see a glimpse of a young Han. The idea here seems rushed and for the sake of a quick crowd pop.

Like I keep saying, I have nothing against side stories and origin plots, but not crammed into a movie. Say what you want about the current, and in my mind the best, version of the clone wars. It works for those Star Wars fans willing to get off the Genndy Tartakovsky train because there is a narrative and it's not just pre-hyped Fanfiction conjured up for the sake of selling toys and a needless new villain. Grievous...Really? With that bit of truth out of the way. Disney really has to focus on getting a good script together for wherever they plan on picking up the story. If that's episode VII so be it. Outside of that I'm sure there is enough residual material and idea sketches to produce an excellent Cable TV series where Han Solo's back story and Yoda's origins can be told. Nobody wants more rushed movies with a crockpot full of ideas and no destination.

Hmmm, perhaps the best thing about all this is that that first picture looks to have been drawn by akihiko yoshida, perhaps one of my favorite character artists of all time. He is the character designer for such great games as Vagrant Story and Final Fantasy Tactics.

A terrible idea. I really hate how they tried to fit all these characters into the prequels. It just seems unbelievable that all of these characters from the Original trilogy were involved with this major event from before. I already thought it was too convienent to have Chewbecca be involved.

Not to mention that R2D2 and C3PO happened to be there as well. And I'm not even talking about how its weird that Obi-Wan doesnt know either one of them. But more about how they made Darth Vader be C3PO's creator while C3PO was obviously originally designed to be a production-line model.

It seems like Lucas really wanted everyone from the Original trilogy who could be around, to be around. This was compleetly the wrong approach to creating the story. It's the same with the Pirates of the Carribean sequels. They build a story around certain characters that have to be in it. Storylines created this way always feel forced.

I hope that Disney isn't demanding a story build around everyone and everything that survived Episode VI.

Goddamn I hope that rumor is false. NO MORE FUCKING PREQUELS of any kind. Hans is my favorite Star Wars character and I don't even wanna see his origin. From the look of concept art, they were going for a lame space Huckleberry Finn thing...actually that sounds pretty cool, but not for Star Wars.

I saw this art in a making of book ten years ago!

Why would Han Solo be raised by Chewbacca?

Thank goodness! It's like the Hong Kong Fooey trailer from a while ago. Blaster dodged! *But Han shot first*
