nkWhiteStar posted a statusOn July 5th - 7th Spill.com and Rooster Teeth are partnering together to bring you Spill Dot Con at RTX! For those of you that aren't familiar with Rooster Teeth, they are an Austin based website that was made popular by their 'Red vs Blue' Halo machinima series as well as their 'Achievement Hunter' videos. We've been a long time fan of theirs and they of ours and we're happy to be able to bring our families together.
For those worried we're losing sight of what Spillios expect at Spill Dot Con have no fear! Like we do every year there will be live podcasts, the Spill Film Festival, a talent show, a live Happy Hour, Master Pancake and much more. We'll also have our booth set up in the main hall where you can meet members of the Spill Crew and buy official merchandise.
We'll also be continuing our tradition of hosting night time parties throughout the weekend. Expect to see Karaoke Apocalyse back this year for some live band karaoke goodness. The nights should be a little more Spill oriented and intimate so we can get time to talk and hang out with everyone that comes down.
We're really looking forward to introducing Spill to RTX and to have all of you interact with the folks over at Rooster Teeth! Start planning now and we hope to see you there!

Comment by ObjectiveCyd on Wednesday For those of us who are on the fence because of work, finances or other considerations, will this be a yearly event?
Ok, bought my ticket, but I don't know about hotels yet.
And anyone who might be traveling by plane, but wanting to save money, someone once told me to check flight prices during the middle of the week, like Tuesday or Wednesday because people usually order their tickets during the weekends or Friday. It's a smal weird thing, but you could really save $20-$80 by doing it that way. Also, there are going to be people who will bring their cars, who are more then willing to help other Spillio's to get to the parties or their hotel by driving them there.

@Pretty in Plague I told this to TPR and I'll say it again here. They sold out last year and opened up for more tickets. So there's always a chance and they haven't sold out yet. Don't lose hope!
Comment by Pretty in Plague on January 18, 2013 at 12:42am I was originally going to be sharing a house with a group of friends... but I cannot currently afford to even buy tickets let alone the fee for the house while I'm at a school that expects high-quality supplies so... Tea Party Rat may not make it to Spill Dot Con if the tickets are sold out before I can get to them. :/ I'm also not allowed to go before I pass this semester so... even if I do, it'll probably be sold out. Sorry. :(
Comment by Your Friendly Neighborhood Texan on January 17, 2013 at 5:07pm I'm just waiting for RT to put up their hotel deals so I can get all my plans together. I think I'm going to spend my 4th of July in Austin this year.

Comment by Dr. Detfink on January 16, 2013 at 5:16pm I don't know why there is this concern. Last year, I had to pay nearly a $30 cab ride one way from my hotel in downtown Austin to the auditorium to see one day's worth of the Spill event. That can be a Sophie's Choice, in disposable income.
This year, I can just cross the street two blocks over to the Austin Convention Center. I can easily pick and choose what Spill panels/events I want to go each day to AND fit in my lunch and dinner plans with better time manage. After RTX is over for the day... the geeks get their haldol 5mg, benadryl 50mg, and ativan 2mg IM shots, I can then EASILY hit the "after hours" rendezvous spots with the community members I chat with online on a daily basis.
Every one has 6.5 months to save their coin...is it really THAT much more of a sacrifice?
