First Trailer For 'Alex Cross'
Detective Alex Cross, a character created by novelist James Patterson, has thus far appeared in films 'Along Came a Spider' and 'Kiss the Girls' played by Morgan Freeman. Now actor/filmmaker Tyler Perry assumes the role in Rob Cohen's not-so-enigmatically titled 'Alex Cross.' This time around, Cross must match wits with a sadistic killer...so pretty much the same as every other outing. The first trailer for the film has just been released. It looks...kind of disastrous actually. Perry is strikingly wooden and the "snappy" action movie taglines are about as committed to brevity as a William Faulkner sentence. And I'm sorry, Matthew Fox ('Lost') looks super silly as the UFC fighter/killer. I could be very, very wrong of course, and I hope I am, but this has potential to be the guilty pleasure bomb of the year. Take a look at the trailer below and let us know what you think.

Billy was right. They need a guy with more clout to take on this role. I can't take Perry seriously in it. It should have been Don Cheadle, Chiwetel Ejiofor, or even Terrance Howard.

This looks horrible. This is one of the worst trailers I ever saw. I mean, why can't they just make a movie about Madea hunting down a serial killer? That would just be more funny and entertaining. We've also got the spray painted plot that we've seen so many times, it's laughable. I mean words cannot describe this.

@Santos Normally i would agree with you, but im so sick of Tyler Perry in general, i want this movie to bomb REALLY hard so next time they decide to make Alex Cross movie...they will stick with casting Idris Elba.

I don't have any more faith in Tyler Perry as Alex Cross or just playing a cop in general as the rest of you, but a lot of the comments I've seen around the internet (including here) are so full of outright hatred that I'm now really hoping Perry is great in this just so those people will shut the hell up.

I'm not familiar with the character Alex Cross, much less the novel, and have never read anything by James Patterson, but purely from looking at this trailer... it kinda' looks like an episode of NCIS or something.
