@ geryboti aka 1 < & > or = 1 The popped up words tell or foreshadow the story for example on the soccer level Max mentions some words about the wife which then happens later on.

ps. the flashback sequences were the best parts of the game , that at least looked like mr Payne

sorry everyone , but Jeff has it spot on ; gameplay is good/great , but that's the only aspect of this that resembles a Max Payne game.  These hyper-stylized cut-scenes with those random word pop-ins just throw me out of the mood ,and quite frankly , it makes the game look cheap . Also, they make me miss the comic book cut-scenes even more . + very few humorous moments here and way too much self-loathing ( again, compared to 1 and 2 )

I really dont get all those "I like it, but its not Max Payne" Max is voiced by the same actor, and the game mechanic is same it always was, just updated...so what I'm trying to say, IT IS a Max Payne game, and to be perfectly honest, i think its the best one of em all...and bitching bout this game not being "cheesy enough" seriously ?

For me this game is 10/10 it has a decent lenght, great action, awesome voice acting and cinematics, and the story is well written and really involving...hell, its one of the really few games that when ive started playing it, i couldnt stop till i finished it.

FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS A REALLY DIPPING IN -oops cas lock- max payne 3 's world, watch commentless playthroughts on youtube. i watched and didn't think the head shave would be well managed and introduced, well i was wrong.

that format of commenting is killing games with atmosphere. superb with SSX not with resident evil GC.

i watched until the middle of the game and enjoyed it more than i thought i would.

listening to those comments when you don't know anything about the game and its atmosphere is like drinking watered down rum.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who sees Frank West every time I look at Max Payne now.

I'm glad I'm over 2/3ths of the game before I watched this. It's great fun watching them but they can spoil the fun of experiencing it at your own pace.

These Happy Hour vids need their own link/section under the Podcasts heading, so we can find new and past ones without having to search through the site ;)

This is a Max Payne game through and through. It's a crime noire with a tropical setting. They even honor the roots of the series with some great flashback sequences. McCaffery's performance is my favorite part of the game. His dialogue has improved so much since the last two. This is a Full Price for me.
