As filming on Justin Lin's 'Fast 6' inches toward the starting line, there are a few details that needed to be attend to first. Details like, say, who the bad guy would be. We know Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, and The Rock are returning in their respective roles, and we know that ass-kicking maven Gina Carano has joined the cast as a member of The Rock's team, but we were idling in the discussion of the villain. Well it appears that we've now passed that speed bump as Universal enters final negotiations with Luke Evans to make him the sixth installment's chief baddie. No details on this character have yet been released, but that is to be expected. The studio has been very tight-lipped on almost all info on this chapter of the street-racing/crime franchise. All we really know about 'Fast 6,' or at least what sources have said,  is that it will take place in Europe. The new film is due in theaters in May of next year.

Luke Evans is an interesting actor. While I do feel he's got some talent, he's not chosen the best possible showcases for it. He's been in things like Paul W.S. Anderson's 'Three Musketeers,' Tarsem Singh's 'Immortals,' and the dreadful 'The Raven' starring John Cusack. I actually liked his take on Zeus in 'Immortals,' but that wasn't nearly enough to make me like the movie. What's fascinating is that he's also going to be appearing in Peter Jackson's 'The Hobbit' so he's kind of all over the map. In any event, it's not as if the previous films have gotten much mileage out of their villain's resumes. As long as the person can look menacing and fire a gun, they're pretty much all set. The real star of the movie is once again going to be the car stunts anyway. I will say that the casting of a Welsh actor lends some credence to the rumor of 'Fast 6' being set in Europe, but hardly definitely proves it.

What do you guys think? Any Luke Evans fans out there? Are you excited to see another Fast/Furious movie?

They're just running out of title names for this. I would like to see a Tokyo Drift 2 (eventhough it was a prequel to 2 Fast, 2 Ferious)
