I finally saw it and my basic opinion is that John Carter is neither good nor bad. It simply exists. As for the its box office fate, the fact that this so-so movie that at least has its heart in the right place bombs while much worse and morally questionable movies (you know the ones I mean) often break the bank makes me not want to care about that aspect of it. The film makers can care all they want. It's their movie, after all. I just don't want to anymore. As for Taylor Kitsch, I thought he did fine. However, if you really want proof that the guy can act watch Friday Night Lights.

"it's one thing to defy gravity, it's another to defy the impact of hitting the ground"... no Leon that's literally exactly the same thing.

Some 'ol Bullshit. Dialogue laughable, acting diabolical and the plot made no sense whatsoever.

i am so glad co host said FUCK THIS MOVIE, cause i almost felt the same way, my friends and i went into it thinking it would be kinda serious but still a science fiction movie, but no the lines were awful, the acting was awful, it was just bad, half way through we were all just laughing and could not stop at every line! so bad, but i did end up enjoying it in a bad movie sense

Not gonna lie, I didn't think it was that bad. Generic, yeah. Predictable, yeah. Visually stimulating, YES! I watched it as a Matinee and it was pretty much perfect.

This movie was really disappointing, it had all the material it needed to be a great sci-fi epic....but it fell flat on it's face. Kitsch was a piece of wood and collins was hot without a purpose, fuck you John Carter!

Sounds crap, but I can't believe it's much worse than Avatar. One makes a billion dollars, the other becomes one of the biggest flops in film history, both movies suck ass.

enjoyed this movie so much!

way, way better than I thought! "John Carter" or "John Carter of Mars" finally makes its way to the big screen nearly 100 years since it was first published this movie is another good example of blockbuster: action, special efffects, good actors the pacing might be off for a lot of people but I was really happy to take the time to be immersed and believe in this universe Taylor Kitsch makes for a ...good action hero as the title role, Lynn Collins amazingly projects as a female warrior princess/scientist and is quite alluring, the Tharks are believable alien natives especially Willem Dafoe as Tars Tarkas and the planet Mars has so much scope there's a ton of information to take in but if you can overlook the convoluted script then no problem some of the character development is questionable, too making you wonder who you should be sympathizing with but for me it didn't get in the way the other interesting thing is that this movie definitely goes back to all the grand, epic spectacle motion pictures with princesses, aliens, giant monsters, powers and other worlds I was worried Andrew Stanton of PIXAR-fame would lose his touch but he manages to succeed with his modern storytelling and sheer vision no matter what world you live in war is inevitable and heroism is never a lost cause

btw, Lynn Collins has never been hotter

movie was awful .

soo many drawn out scene that went nowhere .. the princess other than having a nice face and ass had nothing worth fighting for or caring about ..

his powers were inconsistent and made no sense the review was pretty much on target and even gave it some benefit of the doubt that somebody might like this film , but overall wasn't worth the time.
