Finally saw it as well on Christmas Eve. I gotta say, it was quite a fun and sweet movie. I plan on seeing it next year during Christmas time too.
However, I don't know if any of the other guys mentioned this, but WHAT THE HELL was up with the Justin Bieber music video before the movie started? Seriously, it came out of no where. 0_O

I feel so weird about this movie. On one hand, it's from Aardman, so I knew it'd be awesome, and from what I hear it's got everything going right for it. And yet, it's not Claymation. That one little thing is going to nag at me all through this film. I know I'm going to love it, but my God, I'd love it even more if it was in traditional Aardman stop-motion, no matter how time consuming it may appear.

Thanks for the review you guys!  I was going to skip this one based on the trailer, but I liked everything you had to say about it, so I'll give it a look see.

I saw this movie tonight, paid for a 2D matinee and walked in with glasses lol. I knew that no friends were interested in it, but I was curious to see why it was getting such good reviews...so I thouhgt "hmm I'll check it out and then listen to the Spill review when I get home"...well I'm really happy that you guys felt the same way. I was VERY impressed by this movie.

Not only was the animation beautiful...but everything from the voice acting, the heartwarming but funny story, and the wonderful score REALLY boosted this movie.

I mean the 1st 5 minutes of the elves doing their business in the city and delivering gifts was so fast-paced, funny, and intense to watch that I was immediately smiling. The movie never slowed down or became "the usual" Christmas movie.

It was pretty predictable, and yet that NEVER bothered me or got in the way...infact even knowing how it would most likely end...it still was incredibly touching towards the end (lets just say it involves all the Santas). I almost choked up a lil to be honest. Very sweet and funny movie and I gotta reccomend it to everyone.

Funny how a year ago they were showing the teaser trailers, so right away I was like "ok maybe if it was The Dark Knight Rises I would find it cool to show a trailer this early...but cmon...an X-Mas movie being advertised a year in advance? is it really needed?"...so I wasnt really too anxious to see it...well NOW I see why those trailers came out so early...they KNEW it would be a classic Christmas movie.

It felt nostalgic as well...a different take on "Santa" and done remarkably well! The 3D might not have been mind-blowing, but it was used very well and made it feel like there was a lot of depth and almost life-like to be honest...

and as I type I'm listening to the review...and just heard Co-Host mention that one seal...I'm glad I wasn't the only one that found that hilarious lol. It was so quick that it was easy to miss...but just that SIMPLE little touch was an example at how much effort they put in this film.

I got so sick of (most) Christmas movies...atleast the new ones (like A Christmas Carol and all that)...but THIS will be one that I want to watch on most Christmases.

I expected this to be bad, shocked to hear that it was actually really good. I'll definitely have to see this movie :)

(Nods) This idea of a movie totally being better than what the trailer represented puts me in mind of Rango.

Same concept: trailer was terrible bu the movie thankfully was wonderful!!

I gotta convince my parents to see this rather than Happy Feet 2.
