Regarding movies with evil ventriloquist dummies, check out the film "Making Contact"  (also listed in IMDB as "Joey").  It's an old 80s flick I saw a few times on HBO when I was younger.  If I remember correctly, an evil magician was trying to return from the dead by possessing a young boy.  In an effort to ingratiate himself to the boy, he inhabited and spoke through his old dummy that boy now somehow has.  The dummy was hella fucking creepy and some telekinesis shenanigans.  Love the show, folks.

As always I enjoyed the episode but I'm continually amazed at the elitist opinion expressed by, more often than not Leon, in regards to Texas or Austin in comparison to the other states or cities of the south they visit.  First let me clarify something they were discussing as to whether or not Texas is considered part of the south.  Yes, Texas is part of the south.  No, it is no more enlightened or tolerant than any other part of the south.  I've lived in Texas and grew up in the south so I have real perspective.  I find it especially funny when Leon makes references to folks from other southern states marrying or sleeping with their sisters and cousins.  That's like one guy in jail calling the other a criminal.  Sorry dude, that joke applies to all southern states (even Texas) although, when folks make that joke they're referring to white southerners.  It's okay though, the folks in Athens GA feel the same way about Athens.  It's that college town mentality of the new south.  I'm just surprised that Leon feels that way.  He and I are around the same age and I figured he'd be the one person withh real perspective.  That said, more Uncle Popcorn! We like it, we love it, we need more of it.
