I just saw this last weekend. "Birding" still sounds kinda nutty to me but who am I to judge a hobby when I play PS3 all the time (to each his own). I wouldn't recommend seeing this at the theater but it was a nice little film and even surprised me a few times in terms of the direction you think some characters would take. I'd give it a solid rental.

Alright, I know I'm gonna get some crap for this but I gotta step up in the defense of bird watching, being a bird watcher and all.

Co-host...why do you gotta knock something you know nothing about? Though competitive birding gets out of hand (as anything does) the actual hobby is very rewarding and not just because you saw a bird. We live on a beautiful planet and share it with a remarkably diverse assemblage of creatures. What is wrong with going out to connect with nature and observe it's fellow inhabitants? As a birdwatcher I've been to so many amazing places and seen things many people wouldn't believe, I've seen species few even know exist but live right outside your door. What would you suggest I trade that in for? Comic books? Video Games? Movies? Those are your hobbies and they exist only in a world of fantasy, shame on you for dissing those of us who want to experience the real world that exists around us.

I honestly dont see why people on here are so hung up on the film just because its about bird watching. who gives a shit? the people behind the movie made a film that didnt cash in on an established property like Marvel or Hasbro, they got three actors who, from wat ive heard, were generally interested in doing it, and despite marketing the film as a goofy slapstick farce, they managed to bring some humility to the characters. if ur gonna bash the film because of bird watching, then you might as well bash Sideways because its about two guys tasting wine
