As far as black comedians transitioning to serious roles, what about Will Smith? I think he's a good example.

I usually despise will ferrell, i dunno why but in parts where he plays a main role i just cant watch him without just scratching at my ears...but this movie actually sounds interesting i will definately check it out especially cus you guys mentioned robin williams and i totally agree with his comedic movies i wouldnt touch with a ten foot pole but im obsessed with his dramas
Another great review fellas

I'm pretty certain they were aware of the kid's celebrity relation. I think it was just a little inside joke between them, and teasing people over it...

I sort of expected the Spill crew to poke fun at the fact that the kid was Biggie's son, but I suppose most of them weren't that familiar with Biggie to begin with.

I'll pass on this. I am also one of the people that doesn't like watching movies that make me squirm. It is like when your parents punish you and say "you'll thank me for this later." These movies tend to hint at a big payoff at the end for enduring all the uncomfortable moments. Unfortunately, I always feel a little cheated because the message tends to be very mundane like "that's life."

Leon, that one scene in From Dusk... that you referenced made me so mad that I stopped watching the movie and only picked it up at a later time- about three months later.  I just wanted to strangle Tarantino and Clooney's- that enabling homicidal greasy guy- characters.

As for Will F. I can't wait to see this movie and his more dramatic roll.

I cant believe what I am hearing - given the amount of 'kiddie komedy' that Morgan Freeman did in the Electric Company. Forget an improv night at a club in Detroit, when EVERYONE starts jingling their keys - try facing a live audience of sixty to hundred 6 to 10 year olds.

You didn't think Chris Rock was good at drama in New Jack City?

No disrespect ... but fail from the Spill crew's part (except Leon ) for not recognizing that the kid is Biggie's son ... smfh ...
