Comment by Thomas Earl on December 10, 2011 at 8:28pm Just watched it on Netflix . . it wasn't bad, just treading on territory seen before in other movies. It made me nostalgic and reflect on what I've done or haven't over the years. As a slice of life, it was a decent movie and I'm not disappointed in having spent the time watching it . . there are far worst films lurking on cable and online.
Comment by carl hungus on March 29, 2011 at 9:17am Saw this movie burned. Just watch the South Park episode 'Asspen' and save yourself an hour.
Comment by MinimeJer05 on March 12, 2011 at 3:49am @BadAss Knives Yeah, I guess they just pick and choose which movies to like and not like when there bored or something. I hope you enjoy your rental. This movie was so much fun and I hate seeing it tank so hard at the box office. Not fair for anyone involved in the production and its putting more nails in the coffin of Universal Studios taking risks on movies.
I mean this bombed... MacGruber bombed... Repo Men bombed...The Green Zone bombed and even Scott Pilgrim bombed. I can see the next few years going back to very generic movies from Universal. I actually enjoyed most of the movies listed in one way or another and even the ones I didn't care for as much, I respected for the different approaches they took and there unrelenting R ratings. (Minus Scott Pilgrim)
I can see Universal playing it safe with a lot of studio PG13 films from now on out.
Comment by Christopher Patrick Keef on March 11, 2011 at 10:21pm This film seems to portray the 80's about as accurately as 'The Wizard' did.
Don't know that one? Well lookit my avatar and you'll get a clue what it was about.
And BTW: I am being sarcastic. 'Hot Tub Time Machine' probably did a better job satirizing that one decade so many people started talking about after playing Grand Theft Auto III.
Comment by The Dork Knight on March 11, 2011 at 1:15am I attempted to like this movie and i snuck into it...i guess i failed.
i will say the only things i liked about it was Michael Biehn, some of the soundtrack, and the Back to the Future poster...because it reminded me theres real 80's movies out there.

Comment by Japan's #1 Top Mixer on March 10, 2011 at 9:25am @AEGIS, yeah the trailer is pretty solid. I was instantly sold when the numbers "1988!" popped on to the screen. When I was 7 years old, 1988 was the coolest year ever.
I vaguely remembered a Suncoast Video at my city's Galleria but only went in their once before Tower Records and Blockbuster Video became my destination for VHSes and Compact Discs.
I'm only going to rent this movie. Does anyone know of better movies which focused on the late 80s? I've already seen "Hot Tub"
