I would give this movie a Rental, just because of the fantasy that it brought up with all the mythology.

As a huge fan of the percy jackson books, this movie is a disgrace, i think these books are even better than harry potter. These books deserved better

Grover should have been played by Torgo from Manos instead

I don't believe Korey was wrong at all for his comments on the satyr character grover.....I didn't go see the movie just because i saw that coming a mile away. Once i knew that Percy was the son of Poseidon and his girlfriend was the daughter of Athena or sumin' like that and Grover was a freakin' Goat, i was llike this is some racist B.S.!!! After a while you just get fed up with seein' black sidekicks portrayed like this. As soon as they said Grover ate a soda can, i said to my self, "I bet they made this dude eat either a strawberry, grape, or orange soda can....Let me ask you this, are you black??? Did you find the Twin Autobots offensive in the Transformer two movie??? Did you find the Autobot that died in the first Transformer movie offensive??? Wat's really confusing is that you believe the movie depicts White men with beards are depicted as vicious and wife abusing and dead beat dads, nooooo That's just the way the god's are that's what they did, all the god's are pretty much sculpted and painted with beards....soooooo, i'm sorry this movie was totally racist and spit on black character development everywhere

Korey, I think you took the Satyr character too seriously. The fact that his obnoxiousness makes you think black people and that they are being stereotyped means that you are giving that stereotype validity. I saw the movie and I did not think blacks were portrayed poorly or in a poor light.

If anything the movie is racist towards white men with beards. They are depicted as vicious, wife abusing, dead beat dads.

Just sayin,Hell in Greek mythology is refered to as the Underworld,so do they actually refer to it as Hell?If so,theres a huge difference between Hell and the Underworld

I've read the book, and the fight at the end of the move was not as good as the book fight.

*Quoted from wikipedia*
In Greek mythology, satyrs (Ancient Greek: Σάτυροι, Satyroi) are a troop of male companions of Pan and Dionysus — "satyresses" were a late invention of poets — that roamed the woods and mountains. In mythology they are often associated with sex drive and vase-painters often portrayed them with perpetual erections.

the author meant to use "faun"
do you want your kids reading a series where the sidekick is a horney black guy who balances pottery on his constant erection?
Sounds like a mythological viagra commercial.
