An exorcism that goes wrong? It's good to see that the movies are starting to reflect the truth about rouge spiritual expulsions. The history of the practice of casting demons out of corporeal bodies is filled with as many failures as it is successes. There is the episode of the Collinwood Mansion in 1966 where a exorcism was held to deal with the house's long history of werewolves, ghosts, zombies, man-made monsters, witches, warlocks, time travel (both into the past and into the future), and a parallel universe, where a Barnabas Collins, who as reportedly dealing with issues of vampirism, simply vanished. Then in 1973 there was the Belasco House Incident. Also known as the "Mount Everest of haunted houses" or "Hell House" for short, it was originally owned by the notorious "Roaring Giant" Emeric Belasco, a six-foot-five perverted millionaire and supposed murderer, who disappeared soon after a massacre at his home. The house is believed to be haunted by numerous spirits; the victims of Belasco's strange desires. This ended in the death of a medium, a spiritualist and a physicist. Of course the most famous one was on the Northern California seacoast at the long defunct, Vannacutt Psychiatric Institute for the Criminally Insane nickednamed "the house on haunted hill" where several persons have died of "accidental" death. In 1999 a séance to rid the institute of the "tortured souls" resulted in the death of 9 persons. In 2007 this same thing was tried with a similar lack of success.

I really enjoyed Man on Wire- the way the story was told was amazing- a beautiful combination of cinematography and suspense. Great visionary.
