Hey gang. Years ago a young girl who I knew from the local movie scene approached me and asked "Carlyle, will you be in my movie?" Her being all of 11, I smiled and said "Sure sweetie, of course I will. What do you want me to do?" She looked me dead in the eye and with all seriousness said "It's a zombie movie. And I want you to play the bumbling janitor that accidentally causes Zombiegeddon."
Thus began my long friendship with filmmaker Emily Hagins.
Intrigued by the notion of an 11 year old girl making an ultra violent zombie movie, a local film crew decided to make a documentary about the events. The result was ZOMBIE GIRL, a film that played a number of film festivals including Fantastic fest and winning an audience award at Slamdance. Well, after its long run on the circuit, the film has
finally made its way to HULU where you can watch it now.
And guess who shows up occasionally? I'll give you a hint: he's in the spillcrew, is made of win and is probably the awesomest, most bitchin,
scooter riding sex machine ever to walk the halls of Spill Studios. =D
It's hard not to be inspired by the events of what went down. Check it out - especially all of you young filmmakers out there. Emily is an incredible young woman who learned how to make a movie the hard way. Oh. And she's a spillio. Share some love, folks.
