If it's crap... We'll tell you

Hello my fellow earthicans. This is a blog about some kick ass acts, that really should have a kick-ass movie(not documentary) done about them. This is all coming from a love for Spinal Tap and the fact that Anvil is great. However, I'm pretty sure there are a lot more famous and interesting stories about Sex, Drugs and Rock'n'Roll.
This being part 1 of 2.

Not in any particular order, number1:

Led Zeppelin: Rock Gods and Grandaddy's of metal, Led Zeppelin the Movie would rock. Firstly, killer soundtrack (although everyone mentioned will have a killer soundtrack lads). The story is interesting enough to have a bad film made, rumoured tales could be included for entertainment (there are so many) as well as factual ones. Breaking up after the death of their drummer would give this a nice emotional edge too.

cool scene: John Bonham plus roadies kicking the shit out of a promoter for failure to pay up.

Next up is Jimi Hendrix:

The premature death of Hendrix is one of the saddest things in music I feel. The man had so much to give and so little time to give it in. A gent, a cool guy, a clown or a sex machine by most accounts, the life of Jimi is such an interesting and aweing tale, it deserves to be really really well made. Like I mean directed by GAWD, really well made.

cool scene: JImi and Noel Redding refused service in a n english pub, as the barman thought they were from the touring circus.

Eric Clapton:

"Clapton Is God!!!!" as the famous graffiti trend said.

After reading his autobiography I was soooooooooo depressed. I mean a movie about clapton would get the Emos on his side without them hearing his music. Although Clapton being God and all, therefore making good and great music, emos may not like his stuff. However Eric Clapton is undoubtedly one the greatest blues guitarists and a genuine rock star. Was lucky enough to see him earlier this month. Would heavily recommend.

cool scene: any confrontation with George Harrison during the "I made a whole record about unrequited love for your wife" time. Or any performance with Cream.

Muddy Waters:
Gotta love Muddy. Check out "The Last Waltz" such a good concert, and his cameo is the best I think. There already was a kinda muddy waters film this year with Chess, but that was about the record company as a whole.
Great man.

Cool scene: ........not sure actually (recommendations wanted)

Here he is with The Band in "The Last Waltz"

Finally for now, The Who:

With madness and Rock on-ness oozing out of there ears, The Who: The Movie, might simply offend yet blow your minds. So much to tell about this band.
Cool scene: Keith Moon filling his explosion cannon with 20 times the normal amount before gig on a chat show, resulting in him deafening Roger Daltrey in one ear in the final moments of My Generation. Classic

Thats it for part one of this blog. Next time, some guys more modern. Thanks for reading and let me know what you think. Good luck now.

I agree with Untouchable Ben. "The Dirt" about Motley Crue would be entertaining. If only half of the shit in that book is true, it's still amazing those guys are alive at all.

I'd love to see a movie based on The Ramones. It'd be interesting to see how actors would portray the relationship between the very conservative guitar player and quite liberal vocalist. How they, even while touring and writing songs, refused to speak to each other because of bad blood over certain events. Then there's the whole thing about them recording a record produced by Phil Spector. I'd like it if the movie kept a somewhat fun tone despite some of the negative stuff that happens, while trying not to sugar coat anything.

I'd Like to see a "Black Sabbath" movie even though they kinda already did it with "The Last Supper"
