@ Sgtcrispy
Really... I was trying my hardest to not make a single serious remark in that whole comment.
Ahh.. Fuck it. What if he only used a small amount of his Devil power to move fast, and not use the Trigger, Where his hair turns white, and everything looks dreamy, and it sounds like devils and angels are climaxing. Did you ever think of that? Huh...
Comment by Dante16 on January 24, 2013 at 6:54pm @jack burton Yeah he actually did say that in this article here http://www.nowgamer.com/features/1161217/dmc_devil_may_cry_ninja_th...
I feel like if a lot of people knew what was going on they would understand where people are coming from when they talk trash about the game or just poke fun of it. There is a reason why people don't like the game and it's not about the hair.
Comment by Dante16 on January 24, 2013 at 6:51pm @C.H. Gorog It's not specifically stated why she would die, and even if that was the reason why was he able to see and hear The SWAT Team like he could see Kat?
Comment by Sgtcrispy on January 24, 2013 at 6:50pm I'd also like to add that Dante's sudden time stopping powers in the chase scene are not his Devil Trigger. When he uses his Devil Trigger, even in the cinematics it clearly changes his look and makes everything white to him.
This was just him suddenly getting time stopping powers because the writers were too lazy to think of an actual escape that made sense.
@ Dante 16
If he said that, he missed the mark. It's better than almost any game to film script. That's not hard to do, but it's true.
Comment by Sgtcrispy on January 24, 2013 at 6:48pm Why can't he affect the real world in this case? All he would be doing is typing on the keyboard to do it.
Did you read my first post? I've pointed out myself that the old games never had such an amazing script. However 3 and 4 didn't take themselves too seriously so it was a lot easier to just have fun with it. It was like watching Looney Tunes. They never advertised themselves as Shakespearean, made by a company that were trying to claim they were "bringing games to the same levels as novels and cinema" and didn't sandwich very irritating and pointless cutscenes in the middle of boss fights in a desperate plea to be cinematic.
They embraced their stupidity and had fun with it. This game gets bogged down by being overly serious with its political satire, much darker tone and long overdrawn emotional moments.
You see when I pointed out that DMC4 and DmC have the same ending one of the big differences is that DMC4 goes out with a bang, it still realizes even after the corny and poorly written emotional stuff that this is indeed an action games filled with very silly and riciulous themes. It ends with Nero jumping at the camera ready to lay the beat down on a ton of demons yelling "Let's rock!" and then the player gets to kill demons in the end credits. The secret ending even has Dante kicking out his doors and yelling the same thing while shooting out the screen. DMC4 went out with a bang, DmC went out with a sad pathetic whimper.
I'd be all for it if the game had a more serious tone and actually was something I could take seriously. But it's not because of how poorly written it is in regards to its plot and characters. I think Alex Garland said it best ( the co-writer of Ninja Theory's Enslaved who was hired as a freelance writer ) when he talked about Ninja Theory's writing in an interview.
I think that highlighted a difference in our approach to character. This is a generalisation, and I know there are plenty of exceptions to the rule, but game design has a tendency to be fast and loose with character, whereas in film and books, character is handled with kid gloves. Ultimately, if you want to be serious about narrative, you have to be serious about character too.

@jack burton again. Dante being able to move that fast was never explained in the game. Even in the scene he just stands still and looks around cause he doesn't even know what's happening. There is no in-game reason for the time to stop at all.
This Lisa is a Mad Genius!!!
Comment by C.H. Gorog on January 24, 2013 at 6:41pm @Dante16 - I thought that was because she was partially connected to Limbo, being able to see Dante as a medium/wiccan.
@Scott_PJ - I don't know what you're referring to with the "secret ingredient". Do you mean the boss associated with that endeavor? *SPOILERS* I thought that was kind of the point that Vergil was using the tactics Mundus was using just to become the overlord of the world, but instead of allowing humanity to be ignorant to the demon/angel war, he would have told what everyone what was happening. *SPOILERS END* Wow, uh, Transformers 2 and 3? I would STRONGLY disagree with you on that level, but I respect your opinion. From what I can tell, critics love or like the game (Reviews on the Run, Destructoid, 1UP, Gametrailers, Loading Bar), but whatever, everyone has their own opinion.
I enjoyed the story and especially how it explained why Dante is who he is by being chased by Demons his whole life.
@ Sgtcrispy
They can't effect the real world in turms of using computers and deleting files in Limbo. Thats why she had to do it. Anyway, Tell me about Oscar winning screenplays that are the other games again.
