This weekend the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D was number at the box office - and it's no secret a couple of us here on Spill didn't take to kindly to this sequel. There's no denying, however, the power of the original and it's lasting appeal. That's why it was an honor to interview with the man who created the slasher genre as we know it today. Korey sits down to talk to the director about his films beyond Texas Chainsaw Massacre, his reception to criticism, rumors surrounding his career, and the controversy over his new film.

Not a bad for a person who loves to film people being slaughtered by homicidal maniacs.

Actually Psycho is the first slasher film. But, it's debatable.

Is it weird that I find this to be too much of Korey talking and not enough Hooper responding?

Man, this motherfucker sounds so tired. He reminded me of Korey's impression of Nick's dad. (Uhh, hoo hum so uh, what do you do? Are you gonna fuck my son?)

Thanks for the interview, Korey. Maybe Tobe will stay in Austin thanks to your influence. I hope this happens.

I'm glad you got some dirt on Poltergeist and Life Force. You're right that Mr. Hooper doesn't get enough credit on the former and that not enough attention has been drawn to the latter.

I'm sorry, however, that you didn't have time to talk about Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2, The Fun House (my personal favorite non-chainsaw Tobe Hooper film and a film that Rob Zombie wishes he made) or Chainsaw 3D, especially after hearing you and Co-Host tear that movie to shreds. I understand your wanting to be a gracious host and paying Mr. Hooper the respect he certainly deserves, but even so --

Maybe if Hooper was a guest on the Oprah Winfrey show. If anyone could twist Tobe into admitting that Chainsaw 3D was a cheap cash-in on the franchise, it would be her!

Salem's Lot (the mini-series) FTW. TV audiences were freaked the ____ out when that hit the airwaves. I remember that vividly, and I'm sure that Stephen King's bank account remembers it too.

Felt like you were talking to Alan.

So glad to hear Korey too believes that Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the original slasher-film like myself.

It is truly the blueprint of horrorfilms we see today-
