Comment by Santos on May 3, 2012 at 5:31pm Years ago I bought both the first two episodes of the old Hulk TV show and a two-pack of the team-up movies. I kept the latter because those, despite their cheesiness, were fun while I found the regular show to be rather boring.
Comment by Tony*22 on May 3, 2012 at 5:17pm I love how everybody forgot that Black Panther is suppose to be in the team as well....Avengers 2?

Comment by Daedalus Ciarán on May 3, 2012 at 4:48pm I agree with Co-Host, Korey and Leon here, the villians are the biggest problem with the story, second only to Whedon's constant search for the comedy. Spoilers Loki is, if I'm not mistaken, the trickster god right? Then why, why, is he always being fooled by everybody? Hawk-Eye, Black Widow, nearly everybody gets their chance to trick him and make him look like an eejit. Except Thor who consequently looks slightly more stupid again by comparison for always being tricked by Loki. And the way Hulk starts beating up Loki, throwing him around like a rag doll, Whedon completely destroys Loki as a threat and turns him into, effectively, a comedy buffoon. Barely above a henchman with a face. And then Hulk just jumps away. Doesn't kill him or take him with him as a prisoner. Just says a funny line and jumps away.
I think Cyrus is well off when he describes the aliens as just Loki's end game, or the culmination of his plans, and nothing more, because the film makes it pretty clear that the aliens completely control Loki. He works for them, but their motives and personalities are barely touched on. They receive no characterisation but enough screen time to establish them, their power, and the fact that they have Loki on a leash. And then they go down like cheap hookers undermining the threat they should pose, all the while making Loki look like a small threat. An arrow kills the aliens (or a bow sometimes)? Why do you need the Avengers? You could just have Ewoks. Or a man with a bow and arrow.
It was a funny film, a good film (though my arse felt like it'd been through twenty minutes too much by the end), and I think it's well worth seeing (in 2D at least). Full Price? Yeah maybe. Enthusiastic Matinee certainly.
Comment by Composite Who Horrible on May 3, 2012 at 4:46pm Awesome to hear gents, though I wonder. Did you see the 2D or 3D version? I'm seeing it with a bunch of friends Saturday and I'm hearing a ton of great things about the 3D but I don't want to screw up the experience by choosing the wrong format. Either way I'm super excited to see this. More so then TDKR in fact!!!
Comment by Chad Posey on May 3, 2012 at 4:39pm Not that I'm complaining but this wasn't a review this was a circle jerk. Can't wait to watch this!
