If it's crap ... We'll tell you
The TED Conferences (Technology, Entertainment, and Design) bring together the finest minds, and most influential innovators, of our age to discuss various topics within their fields of expertise. These conferences have been occurring since 1984 and have been live-streamed online since 2006. Why are we talking about this? Because a fake TED Talk broadcast was just put together as a piece of viral marketing for Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus.' In the fictional TED Talk, Guy Pearce, as Peter Weyland, talks about his company's plan to "change the world." Knowing that the sinister Weyland-Yutani eventually sends out the ship Nostromo, and the terror that ensues, there is a dark foreboding in his passionate words. This is a really smart piece of viral marketing and I absolutely love it. But who cares what I think. Take a look at the clip below and let us know what you think.
'Prometheus' hits theaters June 8th

Comment by Scottyb825 on February 28, 2012 at 8:42pm Maybe I am reading too much into his words but there is a sense of for shadowing in his speech talking about Prometheus stealing from the gods and playing god himself only to have an eagle ripping through his stomach. Now Weyland looks to play God....I am aware the Aliens as we know them will not be in the movie but in might be an interesting reference.
Comment by Christian Bergman Jr. on February 28, 2012 at 7:37pm All this has happened before, and all of it will happen again.
Comment by HudsonsirhesHicks on February 28, 2012 at 7:16pm 'man has become God' - maybe a reference to the giant head that might have been worshiped?

Comment by Plikis on February 28, 2012 at 5:47pm This is pretty awesome.
Still dubious about the whole PG-13 thing, though.
