Easily one of the best movies I've ever seen. Better Than Sex IMO

Oh...and even after that fiasco I wrote...theres ONE other thing I have to praise it for.

During the movie I kept hoping that girl wouldnt be one of the reasons that Andrew became angrier (since her and his cousin were starting to connect), and they DIDN'T fall for cliche :)

You would almost expect, since Andrew sort of seemed a bit interested in her at first...that by the end, he would use that as one excuse to pretty much go ape-shit. Instead they ignored that, in a good way. I mean her character wasnt exactly completely needed, but atleast she had nothing to do with that old plot device lol.

Yea this was definitely a Better Than Sex for me...and to think it was less than 90 min, they managed to capture an entire superhero story (origins, and climax) to make it feel like a 2hr movie.

Great character development, AWESOME introduction to how it happens while leaving plenty of room for imagination. Had a very good sense of humour...they even FINALLY ended it on a great note. Not just cutting off and making you say "well the rest of it was good atleast..." No, they even ended it with (not a spoiler) a heartfelt finale, beautiful even.

I was more fascinated by things like the progression of their powers and conscience...and...one thing I REALLY gotta praise it for is being able to make PERFECT SENSE on how its "found footage", the way they switched cameras by not having to stick one camera...basically ANY camera is another p.o.v. and that worked extremely well...gave it a unique style actually.

Those are only a few good points to this movie, this is overall INCREDIBLE, seriously. Although Stephen was my favorite character, and I wanted to see more of him sometimes because he pretty much balanced out the friendship...and Andrew...he was so complex it was surprising to see how much they managed to fit his story in, showing both sides of his conscience. You root for him, then starts to scare the shit out of you, and yet part of you still wants him to realize he DOES have friends, he just has to give them a chance.

I said to my friend after the movie "well that was the BEST P.S.A. on bullying I've ever seen", lol and that wasnt a bad comment either. It shows both sides, IMO. You see how both he has to forgive and give people a chance...and how people around him need to accept him more, and show him the love he needs to be stronger.

DAMN didnt think this movie would make me think so hard on relationships but they just did it in a wonderful way here.

As much as I loved the trailer, and it really made me want to see it, I loved this film...but at the same time I would have been even happier to see it without the trailer...cause I always knew in the back of my head what Andrew would become...but even with that said, they gave one SUPER F*CKING FINALE!!! HOOOLY SHIIIIIIIT.

I can kinda see what you guys are talking about with the girl always holding a camera...but I didnt care at all...I loved the way they handled that the entire way. Even cop cars flipping over and showing it from the cop's cam... I know the girl definitely carried that around a bit too much lol...but its easily ignorable for me. Its how they introduced the camera technique, with her.

Matt was even a great character as well, the entire time he made me think of a young Clark Kent, while Stephen was like John Stewart (Green Lantern), and Andrew was like....scary as hell lol. Im also glad he was the central character, you dont get that from any superhero movie, the villain's side. Not exactly a villain..but a victim.

When they start flying through the clouds, I just thought "WOW" cause I knew they were gonna continue that imagination throughout the rest of the movie.

and I TOTALLY AGREE on the Akira comment. NO NEED for an Akira live-action movie...lets just say...when Andrew is "in bed" and "wakes up" by his dad's comments...and then...BOOOOOOM, right then I'm like "AKIRA". He even started to look like a Japanese anime character at that point lol.

Setting it Seattle was even smart on its own...it has that mysterious atmosphere, and a PERFECT location for the climax.

With all the story development, I started to wonder "how are they gonna fit in the action at the end" then again I didnt care cause I was loving it...and they STILL gave some explosive ending that just leaves your jaw hanging. Its superbly shot. Especially when Matt and the g/f are in the car (while trying to help Andrew).

Honestly the ONLY flaw I have, which isnt even a flaw, just a preference I guess, was if

Like most of the people here I think this movie deserves to coveted Better then sex award. It not only tells a compelling story but the special effects will knock your socks off. I especially love the flying scenes. I do have to agree with guys on one thing they didn't have to keep switching the visual sharpness to give it the feeling that the movie was being shot with a video camera. The audience can buy that it's being shot with a camera because the overall style of the movie suggests that it is. Anyways great review.
