Comment by Stringer Bell on January 28, 2012 at 2:51am All good shows evolve LDT is no exception. Love Uncle Popcorn and what he has brought to the show.
Comment by The Dork Knight on January 28, 2012 at 2:14am I saw that Petey Greene watermelon video the night after I saw 'Talk To Me' in theaters years ago...and I just accidently watched it since I searched for his name...I never thought I'd laugh as hard as I did when listening to this, holy shit hahahaha. It sounds so much funnier when not watching the video, and just listening to the audio lol. that was pretty epic laughter.
Comment by The Dork Knight on January 28, 2012 at 1:44am The only way it would be funny or cool to see somebody shave their head, is if they have some crazy carot-top hair or some ugly mullet or something. I used to shave my head all the time (not to the skin but just above that)...I used to wish I could give myself a fade, but thats near impossible to do perfect.
If it was the Summer though and its hot and humid, I usually just took the clippers and did it myself...easy and free (and probably missed some spots).
My hair is sort of long right now though, short but long, so this Damien video reminded me I need a haircut (although personally I don't think a fade should be around $11-$13, only takes about 10 minutes usually).
Comment by Vaughn Tenshi Hikari on January 28, 2012 at 12:52am Great show guys.
Where is the clip Korey used at 76:46 and 76:56 from? I've heard them mentioned before, but I have no idea where their from.
Comment by Arnulfo Rojas on January 28, 2012 at 12:41am everyone shut the fuck up and enjoy the show! god damn!
Comment by V on January 27, 2012 at 10:54pm I used to like LDT a lot but the shtick can only go so far. To keep talking about white women and Damien, it was funny at the beginning but now? And to keep trying to get Damien to find the ghettoest black woman, just rubs me the wrong way. I feel like it's less LDT and more BIlly and Korey talking. I miss Co-Host because he's more quiet and the race things is good in moderation. Making jokes about Billy loving white women has run it's course and I'd like LDT to take a break from Billy. To make us miss him again by just being Korey and Co-Host.
Comment by ShadowLegend on January 27, 2012 at 10:17pm I have been listening to LDT for over a year now and it is by far my favorite podcast. I think that the addition of Billy to the podcast was great at first. His first appearance was one of the best episodes in my opinion. I remember Korey mentioning that Billy would be a guest, but for some reason he has been a regular for the most part. Look, I think that Billy is a hilarious and talented guy, but I do not think that he is a great long-term addition to the show.
I agree with many people here about Co-Host being pushed to the side a bit. It's definitely not Korey or Billy's intention; I think it is more of an unforeseen consequence. Billy can be overwhelming at times, and Korey either feeds into it or ignites it. This is not a criticism of Billy's personality, but an observation. I think it can work in many settings, but not on LDT all of the time. Also, many of the jokes have been overused. The leprechaun in tree, The Electric Company references, "Footloose!", etc. are hilarious, but they have been repeated so many times that they are losing their luster. I think that cutting down on using the same jokes would freshen things up again. The racist humor is fine; it has always been a part of LDT and Spill in general. It is never malicious. The problem is that a large portion of the show is dedicated to it. Again, I think cutting down the amount of time dedicated to racist jokes (especially black jokes) would improve the show.
Korey, thank you for being open to the criticism. Whatever route you decide to take, I will respect it. I still enjoy LDT and listen to it every week, but I am just concerned about the direction that it is going in. I hope that Billy gets the opportunity that he wants. He is a very talented guy and I wish that I could see one of his shows at Esther's Follies before he leaves.
