(and the by the way, you should probably stop talking out loud to your computer. Even now your mom is calling a therapist)
Does it tell you too much about me that I'm more excited about this than I am about The Dark Knight, Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Crystal Skull and Cloverfield put together? Wait...somebody act a little surprised, please?… Continue
Universal Pictures has presented us with a preview of their 2008 lineup and I gotta tell ya...things look pretty dismal for geeks. Slim pickins...indeed.
In the non-nerd field, you've got George Clooney directing himself (which so far has proven to be a… Continue
Despite some amount of bickering within the Spill crew, I think at least three of us can agree that despite it's problems at the finish line, No Country for Old Men was still one of the better pictures of the year. This comes as no surprise as A-It's by the Cohen Brothers who, from a critical point of view, have made very… Continue
Stan Lee, who if you don't know is essentially the Walt Disney of Marvel Comics minus the cutesiness and the anti-communist mania. Miraculously, the 85 year old man-child still tenaciously clings onto life. One might think that his assumable limited mobility restricts him to just his cameos in pretty much every Marvel film that gets released. Stan gets up to a lot more in his platinum years than just mugging for the cameras.
Sure, sure Sam Raimi may indeed be the director set to make The Hobbit...Variety certainly seems to think so...but for once this week I'm not going to talk about the Lord of the Rings prequel (which almost certainly will be the first film in Spill history to be Better than Sex..unless you count American Gangster, lolCarlyle). I'm actually mildly interested in this announcement about Raimi's next film, a… Continue

You've got to hand it to Jim Carrey. He's a man who hasn't always taken the easy path. While his man-child comedies like Liar Liar and Dumb and Dumber may not have been major hits with the critics, his rubber-man facial contortions and wild gesticulations have won him the heart of more than one heart-lander.
Jim hasn't been one to stay on the obvious road. While this strategy has paid off for only a few of the comedians who have attempted it, things… Continue
Perhaps I jumped the gun a bit yesterday as I bounced off the virtual walls ranting happily about Peter Jackson and The Hobbit. Yes, he and partner Fran Walsh will be Executive Producers on the film (and its sequel which will bridge the gap between The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring) but no commitments have been made as far as their being directly involved in the writing or in Jackson taking the director reins.
This is officially the news I have been waiting for. At this point, I could get kicked in the nads and I'd still have a big s%$t-eating smile on my face. I don't want to misspeak any of the words in this press release I just got sent so for once, I'm just gonna paste the entirety of the thing in here:
There were some rumors flying around for awhile there that Jackie Chan had some interest in playing Mr Miyagi in a remake of the classic underdog movie, The Karate Kid. This turned out to be untrue, but may have been a misunderstanding of the truth. It's master funny man Stephen Chow who is talking about directing and starring in a remake of the film.
While I have fond memories of the original… Continue
When I think about Fox's upcoming (assuming it ever actually happens) cinematic version of the beloved 80's night time soap opera Dallas, I get a little gaggy. Never actually a fan of the original series or anything really that promotes people wearing business suits AND cowboy hats at the same time, I can't imagine this has much to offer me.
Originally the studio was making the film into a 65 million dollar drama, but thankfully they got talked out of that… Continue
Ok, it's on a cell phone video so the quality is...quality is not a word I would use to describe this, BUT you can more or less tell what's going on and it's for
I'm sure if Korey had a spare moment in his day between organizing the site, animating the reviews, keeping the rest of the Spill crew from revolting and breaking down the gates of his lair on Skull Island, and sexually pleasing the more avid female fans of the site, he would have posted this story. As it is, since no Spill groupies are exactly lining up to perform lewd and lascivious acts upon the noble, humble, and selfless… Continue
My love for the 1982 Disney film Tron reveals two telling things about me. #1 - I'm a movie geek. Duh. #2 - I was and am a video game geek.
Unfortunately, I can't afford to be all up on the latest gaming these days so I just talk friends into letting me come over to play Rock Band or Bioshock at their fancy-shmancy, afforded by having a real job, next gen video system havin' homes.
For whatever it's worth, the Golden Globe nominations came out this morning. I know that for most of you, these award ceremonies mean about as much as a sandwich does to Keira Knightley, but I have a different view of them. See, my friends and I all make our picks...and then it's a DRINKING GAME! Drink a shot for everyone you get right (or if your liver has reached a… Continue
A Quentin Tarantino produced film called Hell Ride is scheduled to premiere next month at Sundance. It sounds like the a tribute to the c-grade biker movies of yesteryear and probably was originally planned to be part of the Grindhouse series (until it bombed like Britney at the VMAs).
The film is written, directed and stars Larry Bishop (an actor known primarily only by bad movie… Continue
